As much fun as the show!
This book is jam packed with pictures, tips, team bios, episode guide, info on Baltimore, behind-the-scenes of the show and Food Network and of course fun stories about Duff and the gang from Charm City Cakes. I especially loved the pictures. There are hundreds of photos in the book ranging from the bakery and cakes to cool customer pics like reactions to the cakes and kids dressed as Duff for ...

vegetarian goes upscale
As a restaurant owner, I often get requests for vegetarian food. I have tried to make a number of the recipes in this cookbook and have been inspired to give vegetarian fare more presence. I found the food to be rich, and quite beautiful. It was much more sophisticated than I was expecting.

EXCITING, UNIQUE COOKBOOK
I never heard of Alton Brown and I'm pretty sure if I'd seen it out in a store and was looking for a cookbook I would probably have walked past it. But I happened to see him on a talk show making these dishes that looked and sounded wonderful. I was shocked and overwhelmed by the overwhelming information, trivia and such and the layout of this huge, heavy book. The recipes I tried were tasty and ...

A Kitchen Staple
Just as others have said, the name says it all. It pretty much contains everything or at least a variation of everything. If there was no internet and I could only choose one cookbook this would most likely be it. Those moments when I think, "Hey I want to make some ______." this is the first place I look. About 97% of the time it's in there, or at least something close. The book also ...

Best "Go-To" Recipe/Inspiration Book Around !!
This is by far--my favorite inspirational recipe/cookbook/"non-diet diet helper"book ever ! If you think "Oh, I don't need another cookbook--"-- let go of that notion right now ! This is like having a friend giving you super ideas for good/sensible/smart/low fat (often non-fat!) creative/delicious,fun eating. It is NOT a tedious 2,000 ingredient cookbook. A Shining Example of Why Southerners Die Young. And Happily Full.
For all of the cookbooks I have reviewed, you would think me to be a gourmet or "foodie." Well, no and no. As I have mentioned in other places, I am no one's idea of a great cook, and I don't know chutney from chives. But I like to think I know good recipies when I see them, and I also like to think that I can also see a B.S. "celebrity chef" cookbook that serves up impossible recipies no ...

Wonderfully expansive book
I really enjoy my bread machine every time I use this book. Beth Hensperger covers the gamut from describing different brands of bread machines to suggestions for pizza toppings. I especially like the more unusual breads, such as pan d'anges (angel bread, an unusual loaf tasting of almonds and fruit).

I was shown this product by my step-daughter and I loved it that much I had to get one myself. In fact several of my family also enjoy creating so I purchased 4 books in total and shipped each one to the varying members of my family. They also loved the book. I have made the spaghetti bolognese cup cake so far and the birthday girl (who was 55) was absolutely taken aback by how realistic ...

The French Laundry Cookbook
I purchased this book for my culinary arts student daughter. She's been requesting the book for a few years now. After looking through it, I can see why. It's a beautifully illustrated book and the recipies are put together so that the cook can follow them with ease. I may borrow this book from her the first chance I get to try out some of the recipes.

Great cook book with interesting recipes
I attended a book signing with John Besh and enjoyed his presentation very much and bought the book. He grew up near New Orleans and has the kind of recipes I remember from my youth there -- in most cases. He and the sous chef from his restaurant, Autumn, were serving Shrimp Creole from the recipe in the book. It was fabulous but not identical to the one I grew up on, actually better. He ...
