If You Give a Child This Book...You Will Have Hours of Fun Together
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie is a modern classic, beloved by children everywhere. It is also a book that teaches about sequential action and consequence. For example, if you give a mouse a cookie, he is going to ask for a glass of milk. If you give him a glass of milk, he will probably ask for straw. As the book continues, the drink leads to a napkin, which leads to a mirror (to check for a ...

The Truth
It's great to see someone with the status that Jimmy Carter holds, still care to make what is wrong with the world right. A majority of this country did not re-elect President Carter for a second presidential term,(Your loss) but years later he is still making an impact on the lives of people all over the world. That is who we need in office, someone who is sincere enough to care when the cameras ...

A great resource for college students
Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association Currently, I am taking a course entitled "Introduction to Research in Healthcare" as a prerequisite for my radiography major. This particular manual, though not necessarily required for the course, is extremely helpful as I am in the process of putting together a literature review for the course, using the APA style format as a ...

I could not live without it.
I noticed my favorite cooking blog, Smitten Kitchen, frequently references this book, so I figured I ought to check it out. Boy, was that the right decision. I have made the tiramisu cake, chocolate chocolate chunk muffins, cornmeal maple biscuits, almond scones, peanut-caramel brownie cake, chocolate chip cookies, raisin-cinnamon swirl bread, and sugar cookies. All of these recipes were ...

A very kid-friendly cookbook!
We have had this cookbook for about a year and have used it quite a bit when planning weekly menus. The recipes don't have too many ingredients and they are very kid-friendly. My son is 9 years-old and he loves to make the double chocolate chip cookies. We like everything we have cooked from this book, and it is good when you are trying to increase the number of items a fussy eater will ...

This Is Your Next favorite Cookbook!
We have already made several recipes from this great cookbook in the couple of weeks that we've owned it. My eleven year old daughter is trying to lay claim to it (no chance! It's mine!!). Whether you are an aspiring vegan or veteran, you will love this cookbook. Vegan baking is the bomb and this is the best tomb of knowledge out there on this subject to date. I also recommend Veganomicon as a ...

Best cookie book ever
I wish every cook book I owned was like this one! They ave broken down the index into types of cookies (i.e. elegant, soft and chewy, crunchy, etc.) adding the picture alongside the title. I love this book and every cookie has been a hit. A must have! Sherry

Excellent fun and great cooking
I purchased the book because I enjoyed the Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder (Hannah Swenson Mysteries), and I also liked the concept of recipes in a murder mystery. The venue of a neighborhood bakery makes a great center for the gathering of information and gossip, as the local bakery in my old home town certainly did. This rather clever choice of a central source of community information reminds ...

The only cookie decorating book you need!
I don't write reviews too often, but this book definitely moved me to write one. I have some time off after moving and wanted to teach myself a new skill, and my family loves sweets, so... cake/cookie decorating it is! Comparing to icing cakes, cookies are a breeze (at least to this novice.) The designs in this book are cute without being too twee, and are relatively easy to do. I made the ...

Amazing book
I love this book. As someone who hasn't been baking too long, this has helped me a lot. I normally don't get too hung up on pictures in cookbooks. Yes, they're nice if they're there, but I can live without them. In this case, they are extremely helpful because there are so many different desserts in this book that I had never even heard of before! Luckily every single recipe in this book has a ...

Two birds with one stone...
I found this to be a very fast read and entertaining for my daughter. I was surprised at how much she liked this story. I wasn't expecting her to learn manners from this book though. While the story is really basic, all I have to say is "How would Alfie ask for that?" if she's being a little too demanding. She immediately says "May I please have a ______?" She often had me read it to her ...

the one and only recipe i tried was great!
i was given this book by a friend who believes it contains the "best ever" recipe for red velvet cake. i have made many and find them ironically either too oily or too dry. this one is quite good, i admit, albeit not the best ever. in any event, the cooking time was wrong! having done a considerable amount of baking myself, i knew i would not need to bake 3 9-inch cakes for 45 minutes. i set my ...
