An excellent resource
This is a great book for married couples and well as those contemplating marraige. I have read a number of books on covenant marriage and consider this one of the best. The communication chapters and the various intimacy chapters are very well written. You will not be disappointed in having this book on your self for a resource for years to come.

Great review of water policy
Maude Barlow has written a very readable review of water policy. At first this would not seem like a very exciting topic, but water policy will soon affect all of us as we deplete the supply of accessible clean water. Ms. Barlow divides her book into five chapters. She starts by explaining the crisis. Basically, with so many humans on the planet, we are managing to deplete or pollute our ...

Simply Engrossing
As other reviewers here have written, it would be difficult in the extreme to discuss aspects of this book, without giving away important plot and story concepts/secrets. So, let's deal simply with it's strengths. Like all good genre fantasy or science fiction, the first and foremost important feature of a well crafted book is its ability to draw you in and completely immerse you in an ...

Five stars
America, and especially Balck America, needs books like this one. It is a powerful book that everyone who wants to understand racism and human nature in general should read. This is a very informative and moving piece dealing with current situation of not only African Americans but also other Americans who are often disenfranchised. The author offers practical, how-to-do information for ...

The Covenant
The type of books that J. Michener writes are what I have referred to as Faction. Although the characters are fictitious, the events actually occurred. In the Covenant, the history of the southern part of the African Continent are well documented. As a History teacher, I have encouraged many of my students to read MIchener because of the visual imagery that he creates, the character ...

A Classic on Covenant Theology
I'm giving this book 5 stars even though I do not agree with everything that Robertson puts forth here. This book has been on the market for nearly 25 years now, and it remains a standard resource addressing covenant theology that scholars across the theological spectrum still interact with today. Robertson's book was, and is, a distinctive contribution to covenant theology. Unlike some of ...

Excellent content but many proofreading errors
This introductory textbook gives a balanced (neither overly conservative nor overly liberal) introduction to all of the classical interpretive questions. Unfortunately, many proofreading errors found in the previous edition have not been corrected in this edition. Some of these errors are substantive, such as putting all of the prophetic books under the heading "former prophets" on p.18 and ...

Point of View Rather Than Opinion
The Covenant is a novel full of incendiary material. In the post 9/11 world, we have all had to take sides in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and the Arab/Israeli conflict which is at the heart of this novel. No matter which side you are on, living through the lives of the characters in The Covenant can open your eyes. Ragen doesn't try to convince, doesn't argue points, doesn't indulge ...
The Climax of the Covenant: Christ and the Law in Pauline Theology

N. T. Wright
Augsburg Fortress Publishers
, 1994
how did Christ fulfill the law?
That's the gist of Wright's thesis, attempting to answer that question. How did Jesus fulfill the Law and why, elsewhere, does Paul seem to say the Law was abolished? How could Jesus abolish and fulfill the Law at the same time? Wright's central argument hinges on the assumption that Paul understood and explained salvation in corporate and covenantal terms--i.e. God made a covenant with Israel ...

Thinking about Brown v. Board of Ed--not honoring it
Read this book. It makes you think critically, challenge your assumptions, and argue with the author. What more can you ask of a book? Bell has the honesty to look at Brown from the perspective of its fiftieth anniversary, and ask the question, "What did it all mean?" Bell has the standing to ask this question, having devoted much of his life to litigation seeking to enforce the promise of ...

Fantastic Series. A real eye opener.
This book is a real eye opener if you are interested in WWII, but don't want to watch boring documentaries or read boring text books about it. It brings it to life. Charlotte Mason would have called this a "living book". Historically acurate history written in story format. There are 9 in the series, and all are worth the read.

Paris Encore (Zion Covenant)
I really like the style that the Thoene's use in their writing and I also enjoy reading historical fiction (especially Christian based ones). I was a little disappointed that most of the main characters from the first seven books are not really in this one, but it does lay down the first plank of the bridge between this series of books and their next series. Once again, I enjoyed this book and ...
