The best in a long line of boring criminal justice books!!!
This book is by far one of the best of the criminal justice books that I have ever read. If it wasn't required reading for my Criminal Investigations class, I just might have picked it up and read it on my own. This book is one of the most interesting and easy to read books that has ever been required reading. The photography in the text helps with the topics in the reading much more than ...

A Must Read For Any Correctional Worker
This is an invaluable book for any correctional employee. It should be read by all new employees and reviewed by others from time to time. Having worked in the corrections field for many years, I have seen numerous variations of these 'games'. The authors do a great job of explaining how setups progress from beginning to endgame. They cover many case studies that show various ways that ...

Clear Introduction for Anyone Interested in Criminal Law
For some reason it's very hard to find books on the law specifically directed toward non-lawyers. This is odd since the law is an important instutition which should be simple enough (and usually is) for anyone to understand it. Since there are so few popular books on the law, if you want to learn about the law these "Understanding" books are a good place to start. I don't have any formal ...

One of the Finest Texts on the Subject.
I just started teaching a new criminal justice survey course where this text is required for the students. After reading it I have to say it is one of the best course-books on the subject that I have read or taught from. Comprehensive at 750+ pages including many full color plates and an interactive CD-ROM. Topics include everything conventional (civics, criminal law & criminal procedure) ...

Crim Law explained thoroughly
I bought this book because of the reviews that says how helpful it is to law students as they prepare for final exams. I believe it's reputation precedes itself. I just bought this book two months ago and had my boyfriend send it to me to the Philippines. I haven't finished reading it yet. That would be almost impossible. But with every page I read, I understand a little bit more about Criminal ...

very helpful
This book was very well-organized. I particularly liked the way it compared the MPC way of viewing crime with the common law way of viewing crime. Our professor liked to stress this in class so it was very helpful on my exam.

Fantastic outline
I love this outline- it hits all the major points and is a very good overview of the law. Only one problem- it needs to be updated- a lot of cases we have studied in class are not included because they are too recent.
