Handbook for Mortals
I found this book days after leaving the hospital with a two year prognosis for a misdiagnosed illness. My head was spinning. I was making lists of questions and to do lists for leaving my 2 young children. Finding this book was a wonderful gift. It answered my questions and provided a realistic outlook for what to expect of a terminal condition. The book provides sample statements for ...

"Sleeper" -- You won't sleep until you've finished it!
This one really had me up all night. Friedman's medical background shines in this very human drama, ending with a plot twist you would never have predicted! A medical thriller at its best.

Best concordance I own!!!
I own this concordance as well as strong's and young's. This one is by far the most informative, easy to use, and gets the most use in my house-hold. I have not found a Lexicon/concordance that is more insightful than this one (which doesn't mean one doesn't exist). The definitions in this concordance are clear, open up your understanding to God's word, and I actually find it easier to use than ...

Good study tool
I used this book to study for NRP, and reading through it and doing the tests definitely prepared me for the class. Others I know used the disc to study and liked it as well. It's nice that there are 2 different types of study tools for people since not everyone learns the same way.

The Alzheimer's Action Plan
If only this book had been available to my family when our mom was alive. As a family, we had so much to learn in order to cope with the dynamic changes that occur with alzheimer's disease and dementia. Despite the fact that we are a family who has several of us with medical backgrounds, and had a good network of connections, the information was never as clearly outlined and accessable as it is ...

Best resource out there
I would have to say that this is the best CCRN review book out there. It is easily readable, comprehensive, and includes many practice questions to help you determine if you understand, can apply, and can remember the material. I have bought other review books, but unfortunately, they have been in outline forms and not as valuable. They get boring quick too! I have no problems with the little ...

An excellent pocket companion
High yield for all aspects of ICU life... as well as the medicine wards. It is very well written, with topics covered surprisingly well for its size. I basically ended up carrying this, its cousin text, the pharmacopoeia, The Sanford Guide to Antimicrobial Therapy, and The Consult Manual of Internal Medicine in my pockets. Thats all you need.

This is an excellent review of the most common problems found in the clinical practice of Critical Care. Fair and Accurate
As a mother to two preemies, born at 25 weeks gestation, I found Ms. Guyer's book to be an accurate portrayal life in the NNICU and life after the NNICU. The majority of preemies do end up disabled. The outcomes presented in this book are accurate portrayals of the vast majority of children who are born with Extremely Low Birth Weights. All parents-to-be, especially those who are at risk of ...

**BUY THIS BOOK---AWESOME STUDY GUIDE!**
I just took my FP-C exam last week and passed!! This book does not have extraneous information --it is the "meat and potatoes" outline of the exam. I have a busy schedule and was unable to travel and take a review course, so I bought the text and studied on my own when it was convenient. Definitely worth the money!

Calming and Brilliant. This book saved my sanity!
This book shows the caring yet realistic way through the NICU. I ordered this book while in the hospital three weeks prior to my son's early arrival. It made more sense in the NICU, showed me what to exepct and gave me more knowledge to adequately approach my son's medical team without feeling helpless, stupid and uninformed. Being a more well-informed parents allowed us to make correct ...

Amazing book
I enjoyed this book so much that I decided to translate it to Spanish(Editorial Mediterraneo,360 pags.,Santiago,2001). I wish to quote from the recent book review in the World Journal of Surgery (January 2002).
