Bendis and Maleev excel.
I was never a huge Daredevil fan, for no reason in particular. With the recent attention from the feature film, and my appreciation for the writing of Brian Michael Bendis, I enthusiastically dove right into "Underboss". Bendis is remarkable, bringing the reader right in with Daredevil/Matt Murdock's thoughts and feelings. Maleev's art is perfect for the portrayal of the darkness and seedier ...

Falling through life
ASCENSION, by Steven Galloway There are few people who will not feel the fearful tension of observing another person conquering the high wire. It is a sense that normally can only be endured for relatively short spans of time. In this story Steven Galloway has his characters, led by the high wire artist Salvo Ursari, carefully and persistently walk that wire through a lifetime beginning in the ...

TODAY'S BEST MAINSTREAM COMIC
Be warned: This collection may cover Daredevil #32-40, but Daredevil hardly appears at all. There's only a brief appearance by a super-villian, and that's by the fourth-string Mr. Hyde. There are cameos galore, but of the appearances by Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Elektra, Jessica Jones and the White Tiger, only Spider-man does any real "super-heroing". The story doesn't advance or ...

Daredevil Park
I like this book because the rides are cool, and because even though it's not right, sneak into the park to have fun--until you go to Transylvania Island and find Dr. Ivring Bok, and get into some trouble with the vampire too. When I read the book I heard about the Black Hole roller coaster I really knew that ride was going to be exciting. This was one of the favorite books of the series that I ...

Deluxe collection of some of the greatest Daredevil comics ever!
I didn't bother with the first Daredevil by Frank Miller & Klaus Janson Omnibus, since I had previously purchased the Graphitti Designs Daredevil Visionaries: Frank Miller hardcover set. Sure it would have been nice to have them all in one big volume, but I couldn't justify the hefty price tag. Anyway, the first Omnibus might have been unnecessary, but the Daredevil Omnibus Companion was an ...

Absolutley Astounding! D.D. kicks a$$ in "Hell's Kitchen"
This book was incredible! I read a few reviews on this book and it sounded decent. I picked it up at the local public library one morning... and finished it that night! Golden does an excellent job with character development. I liked that D.D. must reluctantly go to the one man who nearly destroyed his life and wrecked his Law Firm for help...Wilson Fisk a.k.a The Kingpin! Bullseye is ...

WHEN MILLER WAS KING!
Before Sin City, before Dark Knight Returns, there was Frank Miller's Daredevil. In my opinion the best thing he ever did. He took a "B" rated super hero comic, that was being published bi-monthly, and turned it into one of the best selling monthly books of it's time. The ideas that Miller introduced in these stories are still resonating in the Marvel Universe today. He turned Daredevil into a ...

An incredible deal!!
i gave this five stars because of the excellent binding. this omnibus can actually be read like the thirty plus comic books they are without missing vital art and dialogue in the crease, i hope all future omnibus from Marvel are bound just like this and the obvious reason this gets 5 stars: the art of Alex Maleev is mind blowingly cool

Joan Murray deconstructs the boundary between poetry and science, biography, tourism, history, womens' studies. I am a college instructor and plan on using Murray's book of poems in an essay-writing course next year. She has written a stunning, subtle, believable book and has created a new genre.

Daredevil's finest.
Daredevil, in my view, is the greatest and most enticing character in all comicdom. Before all of you go out shouting "Jesse Custer" or "Spider-Man" or "Batman" or "Wolverine," let me explain why. He's real and he's the most relatable in the sense of human conflict with others and himself. What sets him above everyone else is that he and Matthew Murdock are essentially the same character. ...

A terrific collection!
This volume includes some truly great tales in the Stan Lee-Gene Colan canon, including the classic DD vs Dr. Doom, as well as the conclusion of the Mike Murdock triple identity arc. The reproduction is top notch, and it's a pleasure to see Colan's dynamic artwork reproduced so cleanly. It's clear how much Stan Lee must have enjoyed writing these tales -- he's having fun, so the reader can't ...

The other side of a legendary flying ace!
Although areas of the general's military service are mentioned in this incredible story, the main focus is on Yeager's journeys into remote country regions. Most memorable are his jaunts with close friends and family members into the eastern Sierras of California. Yeager writes and recalls these stories in a captivating style that makes you feel like your right there on the trail. From ...

It deserves to be published in the over-sized hardcover format!
Merging real life events with that of the fictional super-hero world can be a recipe for mediocre and questionable storytelling. When Marvel Comics decided to respond to the events of September 11, 2001 with its publication of Amazing Spider-Man #37 (Vol.2), the story contained so many flaws that it simply proved that this was nothing but a poorly conceived sales gimmick. This is why I was ...

Great paintings of classic aircraft
This large format book has two major appeals: the beautiful paintings that illustrate the planes - and the nicely written biographical pieces. Each section averages about 3 pages, some more, some less. Typically there are 2-3 small photos and 3-4 paintings (some large) per story. There are about 60 such sections, each on a famous flyer or flight. This a much more international selection than ...

Daredevil Vol. 3 Hardcover Review
Well, I just picked this book up recently and I have to say, this book is just really, really good. This book collects another year's worth of Daredevil comics #38-50, and is the third in a series of great Marvel Daredevil hardcovers. This one picks right up where the last one left off (as you would expect) and is the best yet. This time around, you get to see a lot of what Daredevil does in ...

Being a Grand Nephew of ray and never actually getting to meet him, (he passed away before I was born) it was great to read about the stories that were told at the dinner table by my father and his brothers. Another excellent entry in Bendis' prolific run
Brian Michael Bendis' prolific run on Daredevil begins it's final phase with Decalogue, as the series takes a different turn as Bendis reveals just what happened during Matt Murdock/Daredevil's reign as the Kingpin, and the effect it had on those living in Hell's Kitchen. Decalogue begins with a gathering of people, all of whom had been effected in one way or another since Daredevil declared ...

Yes, this is the best Definative Daredevil compilation out there. I bought this and I'm cherishing it. It fits well in ANY bookshelf and is a fantastic read every single time. Not only does Marvel overdo their respects to one of their main heros but also they made this into a visually striking masterpiece. The artwork has been redone to capture the fantastic classic-ness of The Man Without ...

If you have never heard of Sam Patch, it is because you are not living in the nineteenth century.
