If You Don't Read This Review (and Cast a Helpful Vote), I Will Nuke Your Psyche (Per This Book)
"Most of us spend most of our lives at work, and what help do we get to survive?...accurate information is the key to success, so here is the skinny on what your work colleagues are really like, according to their Sun sign, so that you can defend yourself, attack their weak points, and predict their strategies." - From the book I was pretty hard on Stella Hyde's first book Darkside Zodiac (can ...

Photography is present in all of the public and private areas of our lives. It is also found in seclusion--where it is "dark," where we shut ourselves off from society or where an act necessarily excludes society. Sexuality--as eroticism, desire, fantasy and fetish--is one of the central drives behind all of man's thoughts, actions and feelings. Frequently though, sexuality is deliberately minimized, relegated to the lowly precinct of simple, ...

Another great Darkside book
Like the first 2 books this is excellent. Same characters and some new ones. There is bad feelings between the magician and fire-eater. It keeps you guessing which is the real "bad guy". Carnige is his usual wereman self and still in the limelight. Jonathan and Raquel are an intersing pair. I see somewhere in the future these 2 becoming an item. This book is a page turner and hard to put ...

Laugh Out Loud, and Insightful
If you find astrology interesting, definitely get this book; it's a wonderful antidote to the sunny, upbeat presentations you find elsewhere, reminding us that each sign has negative tendencies too (except Scorpios, where the all encompassing quest for power and control is its own dark side). Every fellow Piscean I have shared the book with nods knowingly at the description of our tendency to ...

My comparative review
Great book! I was glued to it from the first few pages. I found myself reading this until the sun rose in the morning it was that good. John does a great job of describing the fighting in Iraq. My compliments to the author.

And Extremely good read
I can relate to a lot that is in Darkside as I am a US Navy Retired Chief Petty Officer. Granted I never attended the Naval Acadamy but I did walk the grounds several years ago. P.T. Deuterman, also Retired Navy, has a way with words and puts them to great use. I highly recommend this book to all

What you get, is not always seen
When I bought Shadow World, I was looking for answers. Chapter six had everything I was looking for. This book was such a good read that I read it in one sitting. Great writing, with a style that holds your attention from word one until the last word on the last page. This book covers all of the topic of ghost with eye ball accounts from the people who have been there.

First book of a new series that fans of horror, adventure and Victorian history will enjoy
London, England, is known around the world for its historical sites and tourist attractions, as well as for its thriving metropolitan atmosphere. However, London is also notoriously known for its dark past. One may wonder how a place can change so much, especially since the Victorian Age. Yet the past and present still seem to co-exist. For Jonathan Starling, London is a place that never ...

African adventure that creates awareness
I read many books set in Africa, but prefer a setting in South Africa. This book is set in Kenya and that is fine with me. I enjoyed the education I received from reading this novel. Barb did a splendid job of making us aware of the bushmeat trade and its associated atrocities. The storyline is interesting. The setting is beautiful. The lessons important. Overall the book is a great read. ...

interesting views beyond humanity
This is a very good showcase for different futures where mankind has changed beyond understanding. Yet the writers manage to maintain our interest for the characters and we can feel with them. Robert Reed's story was really spellbinding, and the ending quite satisfactory. But all the stories have something to recommend them, and if you are looking for a taste of fascinating strange futures, this ...

strong collection of horror stories
The Darkside series is a reliable source of good horror stories. In this collection, I was particularly impressed by the story "Mugwumps" by Hank Schwaeble. Great Halloween reading.

Overall Goodness
Well a few years back, I watched the anime version of "Darkside Blues" and I was quite enthralled by the mysterious character Darkside. The anime confused me at points. But after reading the manga all the pieces fell together. The plot makes so much more sense now. The plot was a lot less subtle and the anime dropped and changed many things. I loved the art in this manga. Yuho did a superior job ...

Languidly chilling tales a step up from the usual horror offerings
I am a big fan of the 'Darkside' collections, and this latest installment didn't disappoint me. Less aggressive and more chilling, these new tales take horror into its filmier dimensions, with a more unsettling and ethereal approach to the fear inside us. There are fewer tales than the other 'Darkside' offerings, but the stories are longer and chewier, a tooth-grindingly superior treat. You ...
