Darth Bane: Path of Destruction - A Novel of the Old Republic (Star Wars)37 reviews
Drew Karpyshyn

Del Rey, 2007

Conan of the Sith
Darth Bane was a wonderful read! Marvelous character development into someone worthy to be called a Sith Lord. The character reminded me of a dark side Conan the barbarian. If I said more it may be a spoiler. Anyway I have only read two other star wars novels, one about Darth Maul and the other about Darth Vader. This one by far dominated either Star Wars book I have read before. Hopefully ...

A very enjoyable continuation of the Star Wars experience.
A have just recently started reading more of the Star Wars books and this was a great starting place. It does not require much knowledge of the series to be enjoyable. I highly recommend this book for any fan of sci-fi.

not just for teens...story telling is amazing
i had just finished Darth Bane a while back and was sad that i don't have anything else as exciting. Reading through some of the reviews i took a look at this small series which is intended for younger reader. I really want to point out that this series is amazing and keeps you wanting more. Jude is amazing at telling the story which e are all familiar with. There are even some of the small ...

Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader (Star Wars)142 reviews
James Luceno

Del Rey, 2006

The best Star wars book I've read so far
I loved this book it was really well done and gave me what I was longing to know about Anakin/Vader. At the end of episode three I remember wondering how Anakin dealt with his new suit and the lack for compassion he was suppose to have. I wanted to know if the good part of him continued to fight and that is explored in this book so I thought that was awesome. This book made Anakin/Vader my ...

Rule of Two (Star Wars: Darth Bane)53 reviews
Drew Karpyshyn

Del Rey, 2008

A Must Read Sequel!
This is a sequel to the best Star Wars book of all-time and, since it continues what the other book started, is a total must-read! It is even darker than the first book, and does an excellent job continuing an already-awesome story. Also, let me say that I am very picky and in general don't like most of the Star Wars books. Taking that into consideration, you should absolutely buy this book!

Star Wars The Dark Lord Trilogy: Labyrinth of Evil Revenge of the Sith Dark Lord: The Rise of ...11 reviews
James Luceno, Matthew Stover

Del Rey, 2006

Captivating
Matthew Strover is one of the most talented writers out there. His use of vocabulary, personifications, and connations are blended together perfectly to out-do the film itself. Strover's depiction of Anakin and the fear that lives inside him really captivates the reader and makes them understand how Anakin truly feels and why he turned to the dark side. For example, Strover desribes how Anakin ...

The Story of Darth Vader (DK READERS)1 review
Catherine Saunders

DK CHILDREN, 2008

A bombad mini-biography of Darth Vader
The release of Star Wars books for young people has always been related to a theatrical promotion. In a world that has a seen all six films, a new wave of DK Readers is much appreciated. It gives us comfort that even though the movies are finished, the Star Wars experience isn't completely 'done.' As the title suggests, "The Story of Darth Vader" is a biography of Darth Vader. The first half of ...

Shadow Hunter (Star Wars: Darth Maul)147 reviews
Michael Reaves

Del Rey, 2001

Pre-prequel
In order to best appreciate the story in "Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter", it is recommended that "Darth Maul: Saboteur" be read first. Previously an ebook, it is included at the end of most publications of "Shadow Hunter". Reading "Saboteur" first allows a picture of the characters to develop in the reader's mind before the main novel. Although menacing, the Darth Maul character portrayed in ...

The Glove of Darth Vader27 reviews
Paul Davids

Bantam Doubleday Dell Publishing Group, 1996

Good Book
I loved this book! The first time I read it it took me about 5 days but it was good. A lot of stuff that happened would never be in a Timothy Zahn type EU. The book is more aimed for ages 7 to 11 with the simple vocabulary and the pictures. It also isn't very graphic when someone gets killed. A typical killing part would be "Luke swung his lightsaber at the stormtrooper and he fell to the ...

Star Wars: Death Star49 reviews
Michael Reaves, Steve Perry

Del Rey, 2007

That's No Moon
Death Star is an excellent book that I very much enjoyed. Our first exposure to the Death Star in the films is an extremely memorable moment that stays with the Star wars fan forever. That's no moon. The destruction of the Death Star is even more memorable and probably locked us all in as fans who wanted to see more. However, how many of us in those days actually thought about the Death Star as a ...

The New Essential Guide to Characters (Star Wars)20 reviews

Del Rey, 2002

A Great Book To Have!
I really like this book. Seldom do you get the opportunity to read about Star Wars characters, all compiled into a single volume. Every page in this book is fun to read. Character illustrations are pretty good and the descriptions on each characters are quite detailed and well-constructed. However, there are some typo errors in the book and I was left wondering why did the publisher (Del Rey) ...

Star Wars Journals: Episode 1 #03: Darth Maul (Star Wars, Journals)26 reviews
Jude Watson

Scholastic Paperbacks, 2000

Respect for the dark side
Even thought the book was small in size it gave me a whole new insite to the dark side and not only Darth Maul but Lord Sidious as well. My room mate and I have both read the book and have gained a high level of respect for Maul. The passion he presents, and the level of skill he posseses is to cool for words. I hope they decide to do a seriouse about Darth Maul in the future. I would kill to ...

9 year old loved this book!
My son is a huge Star Wars fan and he just loved this book. It has a story line that isn't in the movies. It sort of fills in the gaps between the episodes. A must read for young Star Wars fans!

Star Wars: Dark Times: Path to Nowhere (Star Wars)8 reviews
Welles Hartley, Mick Harrison, ...

Dark Horse, 2008

Dark Times start here!
This graphic is way better than that book which was written about Vader "sith lord whatever." The focus is mostly on Dass and Bono, but the couple of scenes with Palpatine and Vader are very insightful. But overall you will find this book depressing and maybe in need of some lexapro afterwords.

Star Wars: Darth Maul (Star Wars)18 reviews
Ron Marz, Jan Duursema, ...

Dark Horse, 2001

Excellent art, but the story is lacking
A great graphic novel by Ron Marz and illustrated by Jan Duursema. The main idea was Black Sun threatens Sidious' plans for a Naboo Blockade. Darth Maul is sent to weaken their criminal network. In this TPB, writer Ron Marz is, well, Ron Marz. That means little dialogue, weak storyline, and not much character development. An example of weak dialogue was when Sidious and Maul were talking, and ...
