Evaluation of camouflage, concealment, deception, and obscuration (CCDO): Concepts and techniques tested ...8 reviews
J. W. P Patin

U.S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station, 1991

A Lot of Memories
There is much to enjoy here even if one does not have a special interest in architecture. As a lifelong Chicagoan, I especially liked the photo of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church (p. 79) which occurs in the formerly Polish neighborhood that I grew up in. I also enjoyed the old maps of the Chicago area from the 1600's.

Pranks! (Re-Search # 11)10 reviews
V. Vale

Re/Search Publications, 1987

Best book EVER! Change my life for the better.
I love this book. I thought I was the only weirdo out there, but this book inspires me to be weirder. Great interviews with Dead Kennedy singer Jello Biafra, Abbie Hoffman and Henry Rollins. One of the few books I pick up weekly, even though I've read it from cover to cover many times. Still cracks me up.

The Fluoride Deception36 reviews

Seven Stories Press, 2004

Scary but true
I read this book as part of a book club and was absolutely amazed at the history of lies and chicanery associated with flouride in our water, toothpaste and dental use. If you want validation of what is in the book look no further than the January 2008 issue of Scientific American who interviews and quotes many of the scientists whose stories are found in this book. I used to think that ...

The Trickster and the Paranormal10 reviews
George P. Hansen

Xlibris Corporation, 2001

Greater Key to the Paranormal
Like other reviewers here, if I could, I would give this book SIX stars. I am both a Native American, familiar with our Trickster stories, and an anthropologist, familiar with Levi-Strauss, Victor Turner, and structural anthropology. The synthesis of anthropology and folklore achieved in this book by Mr. Hansen is amazing and wonderful! The chapter topics include: -An Overview of Tricksters ...

Romantic Deception: The Six Signs He's Lying12 reviews
Sally Caldwell

Adams Media Corporation, 1999

What every woman and girl should know.
After many years on Amazon and many books, this is the first review I am compelled to write. I'm an educated, successful woman in my early 30's, and have just gone through a classic romantic deception (I never thought I would be 'stupid' enough to fall for such schlock). All of us are susceptible, and if we were only taught early on, we would be much less so. The material in this book should ...

The Portofino Deception18 reviews
Jeffrey S. Stephens

IBooks, Inc., 2007

Great book - couldn't put it down
This books grabs you from the first page and takes the reader on a globe-trotting adventure into the world of counter-terrorism. The exploits of ex-CIA agent Jordan Sandor will leave you breathless as he races against time to prevent a world-wide terrorist plot. Can't wait for the next one...this would make a terrific movie.

Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception12 reviews
Maggie Stiefvater

Flux, 2008

(4.5) Haunting, scary, and romantic
First love: it's scary and confusing enough even when there aren't homicidal faeries involved. Add in the homicidal faeries, and a girl can get in over her head before she can say "cold iron." Maggie Stiefvater's _Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception_ is an excellent YA fantasy that will appeal to anyone who likes stories of the fae as they appear in the oldest legends: dangerous, seductive, ...

Project Seek: Onassis, Kennedy, and the Gemstone Thesis10 reviews
Gerald A. Carroll

Global Insights Publications, 1994

Excellent
I worked for Hughes during the time of the event described as his "kidnapping." At the time, the entire Staff on Romaine street was in a major uproar, ostensibly because of a "falling out" between Hughes and Noah Detrich. However, the behavior of some members of the staff subsequent to this event have convinced me that a great degree of truth is contained in Gemstone.

Deadly Deception14 reviews
Betsy Haynes

Demco Media, 1995

Very Suspenseful
Deadly Deceptions by Betsy Haynes was an excellent book. It was hard to put down. The main character is Ashlyn Brennan, a seventeen year old senior, who is really close to her school counselor. Everything was going well in Ashlyn's life when suddenlly her school counselor was found dead in her office and the last person schedule to see her was Ashlyn's boyfriend Drew. All the fingers are pointing ...

White Lies: A Tale of Babies, Vaccines, and Deception8 reviews
Sarah Collins Honenberger

Cedar Creek Publishing, 2006

An Auspicious Debut by a Fine New Novelist
One of the major pleasures in reading 'first works' by unknown writers is the discovery of great writing in the nascent stage. With WHITE LIES Sarah Collins Honenberger steps onto the stage with a securely written, well researched 'mystery', a novel based on fact that is played by actors so well defined that by the end of the book we feel as though we know each of them - the 'heroes' and the ...

The Gmo Trilogy And Seeds of Deception Set6 reviews
Jeffrey M. Smith

Yes! Books, 2006

What is a GMO?
Most of us do not know what Genetically Modified Organisms are, let alone that they have been added to our diet, with potentially deadly results. As major food corporations have attempted to play God with our food supply, all in the name of more profits, they have made consumers their guinea pigs. Learn how these GMO's have not been thoroughly tested for long term affects on humans, yet have ...

Den of Deception7 reviews
Richard Alan Nelson

PublishAmerica, 2003

excellent book
Den of Deception by Richard Nelson is one of the best 'who-done-it' books I have ever read. The writing and story line is in the 'big-league' class. It is a quick read, as the story flows very well. I highly recommend this book to others.

Faces of Deception6 reviews
Janet Wiley Menan

Vantage Pr, 1999

Very intriguing, clever and creative, a super book.
Janet Wiley Menan is highly talented. The book is very easy to read and yet it really makes you think! Could this happen? The answer is yes it it could happen. I would compare it to some of the writings of John Grisham where the changes and especially the ending is a complete surprise. It is made up of twist and turns, intriguing, exciting, and it continues. The author thinks out side the ...

Options Trading: The Hidden Reality ("Options: Perception and Deception" & "Coulda Woulda Shoulda" revised & ...7 reviews

RiskDoctor, Inc., 2006

Unique Insights
After several false starts, I started studying options seriously a few months ago and burned through a lot of books I had seen recommended in various place. Some were fairly good, some not, but I feel they all pale in comparison to this book. Charles brings clarity to this often obfuscated field, and for the fisrt time I feel I have 'grokked' options. Parts of the book are not an easy read ...

Options: Perception and Deception : Position Dissection, Risk Analysis, and Defensive Trading Strategies7 reviews
Charles M. Cottle

Irwin Professional Pub, 1996

Options Innovator
I read Options: Perception and Deception at least 3-4 times before many of the advanced concepts began to sink in. This is not a book for an options novice; in fact, I would suggest that most people read Natenberg's book on options prior to engaging in this incredible text. While many of the advanced 3-D graphs were beyond my grasp, I particularly liked Cottle's description of "real world" ...

Unto Us a Child: Abuse and Deception in the Catholic Church7 reviews
Donald T. Phillips

Tapestry Press (TX), 2002

Such a sad story
This is such a sad story, but one that needs to be read. To think that the Catholic church is so callous is heart-breaking, but we have read enough of these types of stories recently to know that it is true. The hierarchy within the church are not only callous but are self-righteous and even hateful, in my view. This family suffered so terribly and unnecessarily, each and every one from the ...

Deadly Deception6 reviews
Susan P. Mucha

Harbor House, 2005

A real living "Jessica Fletcher" mystery.
For first time author it was a very good read. I especially enjoyed the descriptions of places and food of Peru. It made me want to return. She was able to keep the reader involved and made it a real page turner. It reminded me of the old love stories that let your imagination take over rather than have every kiss and "heaving bosom" be described in detail. I am anxious to read her next book.

"Disability Deception" with a subtitle of "Lies Disability Educators Tell And How Parents Can Beat Them At ...6 reviews
JoAnn Collins

JoAnn Collins Publishing, 2007

Finally the real truth about Special Ed
Disability Deception is a must read for every parent that has a child in Special Education. I could not put this book down. I read it cover to cover. I had to use a highlighter and a pen to put personal notes in the margins. I agree with everything that was written, because unfortunately, I have had similar experiences working with my school district. Thanks JoAnn for telling us the real truth.

Guilt by Association: How Deception and Self-Deceit Took America to War6 reviews
Jeff Gates

State Street Publications, 2008

amazing detail
This book contains so much amazing detail that it takes a while to absorb it all. The author's background gives him credibility, and the connections between the political class, organized crime, corporate media and Israeli connections are well researched. What a blockbuster movie this would make- is there any producer capable of tackling this information accurately?
