blink...and then it's gone
There's not much substance to this book. Rather than being a resource of information, it is merely a book of examples. There is no broad takeaway you can gather from it after reading except to say perhaps that many of our decisions are based on split-second thoughts. But did you really need to read this book to find that out?

Excellent Book...
This book is a quick study for those who want practical skills that can be applied either at work or school. Roam skillfully uses examples from practical case studies to illustrate his techniques (which are scientifically based). I found the application and retention of his tools very easy and useful. I read the entire book in about a week, a few pages each night before going to bed (of ...

great book!
This book is great! It's very informative- discussing each disease, the incidence, what's in the vaccines and side effects. It's also very funny! That's an accomplishment given the subject matter! Dr. Bob gives the American Academy of Pediatrics vaccine schedule, and alternate schedules- one with all the vaccines spaced out and one with "core" vaccines. I found it very helpful- definitely ...

Amazing read
This book is awesome. Basically distills a number of fields and ideas that most will already have had exposure with via living, school, etc - but does so with wit and great craftsmanship. Points out our shared irrationality in a novel, entertaining and education fashion.

Excellent Book
This is an excellent book to read. It will enlighten and help you make better decisions about everyday life. I was immediately drawn into the content of the book from the introduction. It is a definite must read. It is a great book to discuss with your significant other or with members of your book club.

The best book on teamwork
This was a great book, an easy read that was packed with information and suspense. After reading the fictional part of the book, I found the in depth descriptions of each dysfunction at the end of the book very important and informative. Also what makes this book so good is the fact that almost anyone in any team building situation can relate to the book. As a high school senior who is involved ...

One of the best in the economics genre
Before I get to the book review, note that Thaler has done an excellent 1-hour talk about this book for Authors@Google, which is well worth your time whether or not you actually read Nudge. It's much better than the videos on Amazon. The book. Thaler & Sunstein define their use of the word "nudge" on page 6: "A nudge, as we will use the term, is any aspect of the choice architecture that ...

If you think like a victim you will hate this book
This book was required reading one night during my recent interim pastor training. It took me about 40 minutes to read it and I found the book to be inspirational and helpful in asking questions the 'right' questions in a world that is no longer linear and predictable. In a world where change is the only constant, this book was helpful to begin to re-frame the kind of questions to ask and how ...

An Essential Guide for Creative Thinking
This book, together with my treasured Roger von Oech books, sit prominently on my bookshelf when working on a variety of problems - software development, film production, creative writing for scripts or novels, and developing opportunities in this mediacentric age. These books break open your mind from the restrictive fences imposed on our thinking by the conventional world that we are surrounded ...

great stuff!
I read this for a MBA class. Out of the stack of books assigned, so far, this is the only one I liked. It is relevant to today's curious questions of how to get crowds engaged, how crowds behave, and why we even care. I'm trying to teach people to work collaboratively together at work. They "think" they already are doing this but the author gives me new ideas on how to further their ...

Great Reward
My friends and colleagues have a hard time believing that one of the most entertaining books I have ever read is about risk management and probability. Yet, Peter Bernstein's masterpiece bestseller is just that. By tracing the development of risk through the ages, he sets the personalities of the key innovators against the background of the times, and shows the practicality of what they did and ...

Without risking failure there is zero chance of success
When Dr. Jerome Groopman began his medical internship at the Massachusetts General Hospital, he placed a high priority on facts. While in medical school he had tirelessly tried to "store an encyclopedia in [his] mind" as so that when faced with patients, he could "open the mental book and find the correct diagnosis and treatment." Thirty years later he saw students and residents relying on ...

Go Beyond
I think I've read most of the top dozen or so best sellers on leadership. They all have wonderful advice. But there's now also a new kid on the block, a new book, that is probably the best-kept secret on leadership and HUMAN RELATIONS. It's a book called "Going Beyond Leadership of Character" by "West Point" author, Norman Thomas Remick. It goes beyond all the wonderful books like "Leadership and ...

Timeless, practical advice, immediately implementable
In this short book are some of the most trenchant, clearly-written statements on how to be an effective executive ever written. It contains some philosophical statements, more real-world examples, and most importantly, it details actions the executive can take to become immediately effective. I wish I had read this 20 years ago! Other books like Good To Great and Built To Last are excellent, ...

Classic, Good for Everyone
I bought this book based on a reference in Secrets of the A Game by Logan Edwards. I originally purchased this book to help with getting over my social fears with meeting women, but I actually got much more out of it. Of course, it DID help out with meeting women, but also gave me a better perspective on interacting at work and with family. I highly recommend it.
