Great teaching aid
I teach High School Psychology and this book is very useful as a practical/interpretive guide to the raw definitions of various mental disorders as described in the DSM-IV. If using this in the classroom, make sure to preview each "case study" because some are difficult for novices to relate to the diagnoses. Overall it is a very approachable book and a necessary companion to the DSM-IV.

This book helped me pass the ARRT Exam. I haven't been in school for a couple of years...plus I went to school overseas. I had the old version of this book but I needed to buy the newer one. It lived up to it's title "Radiography PREP". This book together with the Lange Q&A - Radiography Examination were the only books I needed...now I'm a Registered RT.

In the third grade my son was convinced he was retarded!
Then I read this book and applied a few of the very simple exercises into his everyday routine. Last year he received his MFA in photography and experimental animated film from the California Institute of the Arts. He now has a job at USC and is excited that one of the benefits it offers is free classes. He wants to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering! Most importantly he is happy and proud of ...

MRI Bible
When I was training at the University of Pennsylvania this book was known as our "Bible". In short, it comprehensivly covers MRI from Atoms to Zipper artifacts. The book can be a little technical at times but unfortunatly, that's MRI for you. It does a great job at explaining the basic concepts of MRI and then building on those ideas to explain the more complex ones (K-Space headaches anyone?). A ...

Surprising Here and There... and Well Worth the Price of Admission
I am not essentially a psychodynamicist (though I have written extensively on the Karpman Drama Triangle, codependence, and family of origin issues in the addictions.) I am fundamentally a cognitivist, and a rational-emotive one at that. Yet I found the PDM extremely enlightening and worthwhile, at least through the first 650 pages. Rather than approach the topic as "better or worse than the ...

It's good.
I've been looking for such a book both in USA and China for a long time, and now I find it. It's good for integrating the differentiate diagnosis. However, if there are more new MR techniques (DTI,PWI,etc.), it will be better.

Good
This is the best book that I have found when dealing with cross sectional anatomy and CT. The images are realistic and really do help when you are trying to identify them on the actual CT images. This book really does help and it also gives you some insite to scanning. Would absolutley recommend this book!!!

Best Nuclear Medicine Text for Radiology Residents
Encompassing the spectrum of Nuclear Medicine in a concise textbook is an amazing feat. Each chapter is organized well by outlining the various indications, clinical scenarios and pearls for each chapter. Images are clear and annotations are easy to follow. Each chapter is organized by basic physics, instrumentation, artifacts, and quality control, as well as by organ system. In the ...

great review book!
I got this in lieu of the baby deMay for study for path boards. I think it's pretty good as a solid review for cytology as it covers pertinent general features of major organ systems. Pictures are super clean and very clear (some with even arrows!!) CONS: ok, here we go. Not every entity described has a coresponding picture. I hate that. If you go to the trouble writing about a certain tumor ...

a therapist's guide for group work with children with AD/HD
This is a very good resource for therapists working with children with AD/HD, families with AD/HD and adults with AD/HD. Written in a down to earth style the book briefly reviews the history of AD/HD,tells how to assess children, families and adults and suggests appropriate assessment tools to use. Though the book is not geared to individual work, it coaches the reader in how to set up groups ...

I think this book is great! It focuses on common symptom complaints in primary care and differential diagnosis. I am a FNP student about to graduate in 8 months and find this book to be very informative and worth every penny. I plan on suggesting this book to be required for the program.

Clearly Written, Excellent Text
All medical texts should be this good. Each topic is discussed thoroughly, in understandable language. Jargon is held to a minimum. The illustrations, radiographs and photographs are clear, and on the appropriate page (something a LOT of texts don't seem capable of achieving), Highly recommended.

The "Standard text" for nuclear medicine physics
"Sorenson and Phelps" is now "Cherry, Sorenson and Phelps." It is still the standard text for nuclear medicine physics, covering the topics well for the radiology resident, nuclear medicine resident or fellow, or a beginning medical physicist. While clearly (in my opinion) the best text in its field, I would suggest that the authors give future consideration for a companion CD ROM (as in many ...
