More Than a Dictionary. Read Details Below ...
Look. This handy little book 1001 Spanish Words is more than a dictionary for one major reason. Each word is presented in alphabetical order with a simple and illustrative sentence next to it, followed by an English translation. This is much more useful than 'just a dictionary'. If this approach pleases you, and if you truly aspire to speak Spanish, you must hear and repeat the language and ...

scrabble dictionary
I ordered this book to take on vacation in June. The whole family will be together and we like to play scrabble. I didn't want to take the huge webster's dictionary so this one looked small and just what we need. I haven't used it as yet in a game, but I have looked through it and I think it will help us when someone is stumped and needs a little word.

Pocket size Italian guide
I like this Italian guide because it is pocket size (so I can carry it in my Pocket and HAVE IT WITH ME! when I need it) and because it includes more useful phrases than other guides (I don't need to know how to say "Where's the Vatican" I DO need to know how to tell the Taxi to SLOW DOWN! and this guide tells me how, in a way that makes sure the driver listens!

Great little pocket dictionary for those who don't want to carry around a heavier full-sized eng/span diction. It's not 'quite' as complete, but it's about 99% there. It's going to have all of the important words

Man! who knew pronouns were so important?!
I love this book! As a student of Spanish I have the hardest time learning when and how to use pronouns in Spanish. It seems so hard! Then I purchased this book, and things suddenly began to clear up. It's still not crystal clear, but now at least I understand when, why and how to use different pronouns even if I can't actually remember to do it. Despite the fact that some reviewers have noted ...

This is it!
Great for English-as-a-second-language, or for those who just want to sound more American. American Accent Training is THE tool for developing your American Accent. I am American born, from the Midwest, so I bought it to help me learn how to speak better in my own native tongue. Most people don't realize that there is a unique, distinct accent that is truly American. And, contrary to popular ...

More Than a List
You can find lists of names all over the internet, so why buy most books? This book helped my husband and me learn how to pick a name we will like. It also made us aware that "unpopular" names are becoming increasingly popular due to style trends. It made me think twice about some names I like and gave me confidence to be more daring when considering names. The author has a conversational writing ...

Excellent book
Benazir Bhutto's knowledge of Islam, Pakistan and Democracy are so impressive and important. I found her take on the situation in Pakistan to be crucial to read as an American citizen. As an American, I feel a responsibility to learn and understand how successful democracies effect Islamic nations. U.S. actions and money connect us all to remote villages in Pakistan. I read Three Cups of ...

Great for political junkies and historians too.
What is the significance of a president's 'First Hundred Days'? What is a 'spoiler,' and is it good or bad? And what the heck was a mugwump, anyway? Whether you're deciphering an archaic term from the first days of the Republic or reading today's headlines, Safire's dictionary is a valuable and entertaining resource. You'll be tempted, as I was, to read it through from A to Z like a novel. Even ...

Spanish for Dummies
I purchased this book because my four year old grandson is taking Spanish in his pre-nursery school class and while I had basic Spanish in high school (many many years ago) and can say a "few things to get by" I wanted reference material I could refer to in order to communicate with him as I know he will excel quickly and I need to "keep up". He already says good morning - good night and how are ...
