great
i really enjoyed reading this. honestly, it reads like a novel with the author telling the story of pts with acute abdominal pain. with so much reliance on CT, US etc nowadays, it is nice to get back to the basic H&P. i'm not sure if many folks in the USA read this but I think those that do will get a lot out of it, especially students!

Not easy, but worth the effort!
After many tests, my husband and I were both diagnosed with IBS. We tried many treatments, both traditional and holistic, and several diets. For over 2 years we barely "managed" our symptoms with IBS-friendly cookbooks. I didn't want to manage IBS--I wanted to be free from it. Then, I read this book by Rubin and Brasco and also Breaking the Vicious Cycle: Intestinal Health Through Diet, by Elaine ...

Mayo clinic gastrointestinal imaging rewiew
Wonderful book , very well written , very well organised based on disease affecting a particular organ with pattern analysis & at the end of each section there is a summary picture thats very good.I have not read a book so well written & organised. I think publishers must be taking a note of that they need to have similar books in different subspecialities. The pictures are big , very high ...

life changing
After reading the Enzyme Factor, I just had to read Dr. Sinyas next book. With no doubt I found this book just as great or even better than the first. Dr. Shinya's diet changed my life and I strongly encourage everyone else in all of America to read it.

Looks great, but a couple caveats for some
The pictures are great and the recipes look like they will provide a yummy way to follow the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD). It's refreshing to have an SCD cookbook that doesn't rely on almonds or almond flour in almost every recipe! A couple of caveats though-if you are dairy-free or casein-free on top of following SCD as we are, this cookbook might not be as useful as you'd like because a ...

Restore your digestion and gut health!
Lipski's book DIGESTIVE WELLNESS, explains digestion exceptionally well for the lay person, and gives concrete, do-able directions for restoring digestive function for a host of gut problems. Maybe it ties it all together for me because I've already read a lot on the subject of digestion, but it does seem like this particular book really empowers the individual in restoring their own optimal gut ...

Get rid of Candida and learn some new things
My spouse and I used Brenda Watson's products and information years ago before this book came out. We both had horrible systemic Candida infections with skin rash. I also had a co-morbid black mold ear infection, and the doctor tried to give me antibiotics for it! In my experience, antibiotics do nothing for mold/Candida except encourage more of it. After years of not knowing what was wrong with ...

American? I don't think so.
The review before me says this book is very AMERICAN. I think all of McDougall's books are anything BUT american. The american diet is our problem to begin with. I had (notice past tense) severe JRA and had been on medications. While pregnant with my son i was in remission and thought this state would stick around afterwards. Didn't happen. I flared horribly 6 weeks after his birth and could ...
