Sociology review
I would like everyone to know that for a class that calls for the latest edition, which is usually hundreds of dollars, they can easily get an A with an older edition. I have proved it with this book. Even though the teacher said I would have a hard time I found everything where it was supposed to be maybe a page or two off but it was all there. This is a great book even if you are not taking a ...

Not bad, but expensive.
If you're buying this book, it's probably because it's a required textbook. As far as textbooks go this isn't bad. It's written in fairly easy to understand language and has a decent glossary at the end. It also has many color illustrations. That being said, it's still a paperback and a very expensive one at that. It was extremely frustrating as a relatively poor college student, being ...

Very interesting book
No matter if you're studying sociology or just have an interest in how people think, this book will intrigue you. I bought it for class and expected a boring textbook. Instead I am finding it well worth reading and I especially like how it relates to how everyday people think, not just people in studying sociology.

Interesting and Lively
Admittedly I haven't read a lot of sociology textbooks, but this one is quite good. Every chapter has real-life examples (and many of the author's own experiences), so it not only makes you know the theory but also feel it at work in our societies, although the author writes quite a lot of his own feelings (it's dead obvious that he wants to change the world), which I don't know if it's a good ...

Creating the best garden ever starts at the bottom
Composting, in case you aren't terribly familiar with it yet, is simply the practice of allowing waste matter to rot and decompose until it's fit to be tilled right into the soil. However, while the basic concept is as old as mother nature and often very easy to execute, it also helps to know more about it. What materials should you compost, and which should you avoid? Do you have to worry about ...

great pictures!
As the title summarizes, this book discusses the topic of global warming. The book is split up into chapters that describe what global warming is, how it can effect our planet and everything living on it, and what we can do to stop this problem. A glossary and an index are included. To fit with the earth-friendly subject material, the book is even printed with soy inks on recycled paper. ...

This book I had with a sociology class. Its basically a bunch of articles that top notch sociologist have written about different ideas or topics. I would say if you love sociology than you will love this book, if you hate sociology then some of the articles will be pleasing to you however half of them will not. Some are very easy written, which provides with easy reading. However on the ...

a real environmental history
Since environmental history staked its claim to status as an independent subfield of history, environmental historians have clamored for the acknowledgment of the rest of the profession. While many environmental historians have won awards and been honored by the profession at large, injecting the substance of the discipline into mainstream historical scholarship and teaching has been a harder ...

The nitty gritty of running the shop.
This book goes room by room into decorating, supplies needed, rules, safety, and the likes which really helps when you are running a B&B. IT failed to really go into depth about the business aspects which I thought was a shame. This book is great if you are already running a B&B or want to decorate your house like one, but I would suggest buying several other B&B books to help give the ...

Buy This Book
I bought three books on canning and this book was the best. It is simple to understand, has pictures of the way things should look, such as the canning jars in a not water bath. I was canning tomatos and this book was so easy to follow. It listed the different methods for canning, as stating the best method. I bought a pressure cooker and could not understand the manufactures directions, this ...

A great resource for living an exceptional life
In her book "The Law of Attraction in Action" Deanna offers a humerus and accessible approach to helping people transform their dreams into a reality. By weaving in aspects of positive psychology (Martin Seligman's work), mind/body medicine (Jon Kabat-Zinn), and areas of neuroscience (Richard Davidson) she grounds the Law of Attraction in multiple areas of scientific research. This approach ...

Excellent and Informative
I came across this book after seeing a workshop that Rose was holding at the Victory of Light psychic fair in Cincinnati. She is the "real deal" and it is quite obvious if you see her in person. I bought the book because I wanted to learn how to communicate with my deceased loved ones and spirit guides. It has been tremendously helpful to me and I highly recommend it to those looking to open the ...

Saving Money
It is hard to justify spending money on anything when you live in poverty, but I thought that this book may pay for itself. I was right. I have only had it for a few months, and already it has helped me to grow enough food to pay for itself.
