A Midsummer Night's Dream4 reviews

Public Domain Books, 1998

Nota Bene
Nota Bene: Once purchased, my Kindle download page contained this note near the download button: "This title has complex layouts and has been optimized for reading on Kindle DX's larger screen, but can still be viewed on other Kindle devices." This message disappeared after a few minutes. Regardless, the formatting on my Kindle 2 looks good. I use the smallest font available. There is no Table ...

Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream87 reviews
David Platt

Multnomah Books, 2010

A modern call to reformation
My daughter recommended this book to me. After reading "Radical" I handed it to my wife. We both had the same reaction. This is not just a book, it is a radical call for reformation in the contemporary modern church. It is a call to change our thinking and break our false paradigms. We were both convicted to take our Christianinty to a higher level and live in a way that reflects our faith. ...

Fever Dream118 reviews

Grand Central Publishing, 2010

Pendergast is back with a vengeance!
I must admit, like many other longtime readers of this series, the last couple of Preston/Child books featuring eccentric FBI freelancer Aloysius Pendergast (namely, WHEEL OF DARKNESS and CEMETERY DANCE) let me down a bit. However, I am happy to report that Preston and Child (and Pendergast) seem to be back in form with FEVER DREAM. Here's the setup: Over a decade ago, Pendergast's wife Helen ...

SWEET DREAMS (The Justice of Revenge)20 reviews

StoneHouse Ink, 2008

Bravo!
Mark Appleton...just an ordinary guy. Or is he? Not since PJ Lawton's PI Winston Simon have I been so intrigued and in love with a character. The world needs people like Mark and "Sweet Dreams" has got him in spades. A regular family man who loses the woman he needs more than air, his wife K, and their daughter Samantha in senseless bombing, which he witnessed and barely walked away from ...

Unbelievably well written
This is a REALLY good book. I am reading it for school... and for that, the middle English is ideal.

Complete Works of William Shakespeare ~ 197 Plays, Poems & Sonnets ~ Active Table of Contents13 reviews, 2009

good deal
I thought this was a great deal. There are some problems with the table of contents, but wha do you expect for less then a dollar? My one problem was with the sonnets. I was looking for a paticular one (can I compare thee to a summers day) and it took forever. To find one, you basically have to look through all of them. But again, what do you expect for less then a buck?

Llama Llama Red Pajama193 reviews
Anna Dewdney

Viking Juvenile, 2005

This book is awesome!
I was reading some of the 1 star reviews and I think it's a little bit wacky for those parents to say that this book sends a bad message. It's a fantastic book and it's very clever. My children know it word for word and they think it's funny. Every parent gets busy at sometime or another when a child wants something. We can not be at their beck and call 24/7! It's important for a child to ...

Infinite Possibilities: The Art of Living Your Dreams110 reviews

Atria Books/Beyond Words, 2009

Infinitely Amazing!!!
This is a book that you want to digest slowly just to make sure you get it all. Infinite Possibilities inspires thoughts and ideas that just flow. I even bought a journal as a companion to this excellent guidebook of life; a book that spells out HOPE and HAPPINESS and how to bring them into your life and the lives of others. Anyone who enjoys this book should get the daily Notes from the ...

Dream Psychology Psychoanalysis for Beginners1 review

Public Domain Books, 2009

Sigmund Freud
I really liked this book. It is a very solid read, that is, if you like Sigmund Freud enough to at least want to read about his theories and opinions. I give this book 5 stars, not because I completely agree with every view that is expressed in it, but because I think it was an interesting read.

The Red Book59 reviews
C. G. Jung

W. W. Norton & Company, 2009

A long lost tale
This is the last published work from C.G. Jung, published as late as 2004. The book is divided in two parts, the first is the original script and drawings, the second is an english translation. The first part is a unique piece of art, it reminds me of an ancient bible, thou the motives are quite different, its very beatiful and even if you cant read German its a lot of eyecandy. The second part ...

Anne's House of Dreams
For those who love Anne of Green Gables, this book is one to cherish. It is the fifth book in the series. In the books between Green Gables and House of Dreams, Anne grows up, quarrels with Gilbert, goes to school, teaches, makes up with Gilbert, and gets engaged. In House of Dreams, Anne and Gilbert finally get married and settle down with a small medical practice in a cove on Prince Edward ...

Downtown Chic: Designing Your Dream Home: From Wreck to Ravishing33 reviews
Robert Novogratz, Cortney Novogratz

Rizzoli, 2009

Divinely Inspired Design!
There is light at the end of the floor plan when it comes to Sixx Design's very intuitive Robert and Cortney Novogratz! Their book, "Downtown Chic" shares some great and helpful hints, while at the same time impressing us with the end result of the skilled efforts of Robert and Cortney's work. The photographs are beautiful and the inclusion of cherub angels in decor, were exceptionally moving. ...

The Bullpen Gospels: Major League Dreams of a Minor League Veteran58 reviews
Dirk Hayhurst

Citadel Press, 2010

A great read for a true baseball fan
This book is just downright funny and yet quite poignant as well. Dirk Hayhurst is a great observer of a particular sub culture that must be compared and quite appropriately soto Jim Bouton's Ball Four. What makes this book even more interesting is that he is talking about the minor leagues and the dreams, often unrealistic, of young men pursuing a goal to "make it" in the big leagues. The ...

Love You Forever949 reviews
Robert Munsch

Firefly Books Ltd., 1995

Touching, Loving Book
This is NOT a sad book, but very touching. It brought my Mother and I to tears the first time we read it 20+ years ago. Because we were shopping two hours from home, my dad refused to let us have it in the car for the drive back - he put it in the trunk so we would stop looking at it and crying! My son was very young at the time and I bought it for him. He is 27 years old and still remembers ...
