Publishers ruin the release of the great series
I have been a big fan of the Witcher books for a long time. I was fortunate to read them all in Russian translation. Here's the deal: the English publisher has skipped "The Sword Of Destiny" that chronologically follows "The Last Wish". The "Sword" introduces the new characters later seen in "The Blood Of Elves". I was deeply disappointed with such move. My wife has read the 1st book and loved ...

Hot! Hot! Hot!
OMG!!! Before you read this book get some ice, a fan and hopefully a man because you will definitley need it. This book is so steamy, pure male domination. So good I read it twice! The author has created a world that makes the reader want to get lost just so they can encouter the dark elves, who want nothing but your total pleasure!

Pulled Me In
From the very start I knew I would love this book. I was right! It is full of adventure and suspence. At some moments it is sad, at some moments it is scary, and at some moments it is happy. It is about two verry diferent girls who become friends and soon they realise that they are more similar than they think. They are named Hilary and Sarah Kate. Hillary is clean and normal. Sarah Kate has a ...

Part Two brings intensity
While Gypsy Morph, Hawk, learns his true identity, and begins his mission reminiscent of Exodus the War between the Word and the Void is far from over. Knight Angel Perez makes contact with the elves, and 4 of the 5 Elfstones of earlier novels have their transportation to the Four Lands. There are tales of intrigue and mystery and the demonic subversion found in "The Elfstones of Shannara." ...

Looking for fantasy and adventure? The Light of Burning Shadows hits the spot!
Review: The Light of Burning Shadows continues the story of the Iron Elves a few months after the end of the Battle of Luuguth Jor depicted in A Darkness Forged in Fire. The Iron Elves have won a reputation as fearsome fighters with unwavering loyalty to the Calharian Empire. Their reward for success and beating suicidal odds? More impossible assignments. Traveling to remote islands and the ...

A Beautiful Book & Great Story
The illustrations in this book are wonderful. A true artist. Very cleverly hides the elves in each page and its much fun for a 3 year old to find them and the mice and birds too.

Wonderful!!!
I really enjoyed this book. I am not a real fan as far as battles lasting for page after page however this only occured at the end of the book. I will definatly read the second book once it becomes available in paperback.

Memorable elves.
This is one of the better versions of this tale that I have seen. Its wording is faithful to the original tale but is accessible also. The illustrations are delightful. Especially the elves, naked and clothed alike. (Some versions of this tale omit the fact that the elves are supposed to be naked initially -- Galdone doesn't hesitate to draw them naked but does so in a way that is sweet, ...

Childhood Favorite
I received this book as a gift when I was very young. I read it many, many, times and have made it a permanent part of my book collection. There are some parts of it that I can recite! When I saw that it had been reprinted, I ordered three copies--one to keep with the very raggedy copy from my youth, and two for gifts to young relatives. I hope they love it too.

Solid writing, good pacing, great book
Robert Stanek's "Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches" is a well written fantasy novel with solid pacing and good characterization. It's one of the rare fantasy novels anyone of any age can enjoy. From the opening to the ending, you'll be hanging on the author's every word. The story follows three main characters: a princess in of the kingdoms, a village boy, and an elf protector. Prince ...

Prince of the Elves
I very much enjoyed reading Prince of the Elves. It takes the reader on a fantasty adventure filled with action, mystery, magic, humor and romance. It is written in such a way as to evoke a range of emotions in the reader which to me is a sign of a very well written book. I am looking very forward to reading the next book in the series.

A book about everything (almost) for everybody (almost)
The title of this review is of course facetious. It's not about everything, but it is about everything that ultimately matters: human beings and the ways they imagine the world and create it; and re-imagine the world and re-create it. In this book, Clifford Pickover in a stream of consciousness and easy to read style gives the reader the tools to better understand the human condition and allow ...

What...a review?
Uh...since I received a message to review this... Ok. This is a compilation of the first 4 volumes of Poison Elves. My wife actually had the other 4 separate (not in one collection), and the first volume had the re-done version, where Drew actually wrote out the details, like a book, instead of comic. While I loved that, I do think it's really cool to get a look at the comic-version ...

Dark Elves- A Joyfully Recommended Title
Kinig is a bard who just had to learn more about the Dark Elves and requested permission to come and live with them, learn, and create his songs and stories to tell the world about them. He has no idea just how shocking his request to learn about the raedjour was to the raheja. Kinig just knows that this is an opportunity to learn about a new race and to spread the word. Plus, it will set his ...

Epic journey to the past!
Very rich and ancient, the Elven world of Toril unfolds within these pages that are easily readable, thanks to this author. She is the best this publisher has to offer. Her stunning debut in 1991 was Elfshadow. This gives the reader a thorough background filled with the magic that one comes to expect from Elaine C! Using her "magical sight", Elaine gives the reader a rare glimpse of King Zaor ...
