Excellent Ideas in a Quick Read. Especially great for thinking types.
This was a very fast reading book, although not because of a lightness of ideas. The writer includes his theory of happiness and how to find it. He is a Harvard academic which is evident in the way that the principles are laid out so theoretically, with illustrations and key concepts. He makes several practical suggestions based on his ideas and that is what I found most useful. He recommends ...

Purchase book after reading a disturbing article.
I purchased this book for my 2 year old son after reading a disturbing article. I did not think my son caught on till my Mother-in-Law told me he was talking about his privates while taking a bath. Not sure how much the book would help, but I am glad I gave it a try.

A blueprint for leading in love (not just talking about it)
It has been a long time since I've read a book that has left such a deep impression, and more importantly, given me an overwhelming sense of hope. John Hope Bryant's Love Leadership doesn't so much teach new concepts as distill what great leaders of this past century have practiced and promoted -- Mother Teresa, Billy Graham, Gandhi. But what this book does (and does powerfully) is make the ...

Highly Rated to say the least
If you are like me, reading this book will affect ALL aspects of your thought processes. So many places in this book are filled with mind-boggling new information, wisdom, and even humor. Sometimes I found that a single paragraph would cause me to stop reading in order to contemplate the full meaning. I highly recommend this book, however, it is taking the "red pill" so prepare to have your mind ...

a great introduction to Black Feminist literature.....
I knew little about the Black Feminist movement, when I first read this book over four years ago. It was part of a list of required books for a Black and Indigenous women's course through the school of Women's Studies. This school of thought has more involved in it than meets the eye. For starters, according to the very compelling and highly researched studies of Patricia Hill Collins, it came ...

Worth a quick read - will hone your skills
You can read this one in about an hour, but you will probably want to read it twice. Excellent refresher or beginner for managers. I was surprised how a little self-reflection prompted by this book helped me hone my delegation skills. I have a colleague who keeps the 'quick reference' that comes with the book on hand at all times, and uses the steps to review his project list every week. The ...
