Work Place survival
This is a great book written in an amusing way for people who are fed up dealing with coworkers. I found it a very insightful book... not too intense... not too complicated... but informative enough to make it interesting and worthwhile. Dead Wood provided me with a chance to look at my co-workers in a different light and helped alleviate some of the workplace frustration. I would highly ...

Breaking the mold on traditional evangelism strategy
Not sure of how, exactly, my glowing review of Garry's book would be conveyed, I surveyed some other reviews already posted. The most negative stated: "Its a lie to think you have to arrange a time and place and to build relationships with people to share the gospel or to get them to a point where they are open to spiritual truths." I would like to thank the author of this review for ...

Excellent for trainers in general not just for PowerPoint users.
I agree with everything the other reviewers have said to date. This well-written book (lots of active voice) is useful to anyone involved in training; chapter 2 takes Bloom's taxonomy to a very realtistc and pragmatic level that guides the reader to the most appropriate learning activities. I just finished a master program in distance education and I wish I had had this book in school. Bozarth's ...

Highly recommended for Christians and non-Christians alike
I am not a Christian, yet I found this book extremely insightful and compelling in its exploration of the violent basis of our civilization and how the message of Jesus, among others, is not only that of personal salvation, but one of perceiving with clarity the nature of the world, i.e. the Domination System that has blinded us to its true destructive nature. The type of spiritually grounded, ...

A gold mine of resources
I first tried this fantastic textbook with a high intermediate student that I tutor. I was amazed from the start at how naturally the conversation flowed. We were only halfway through the first set of questions when she decided to buy her own copy. Each of the 45 chapters includes a vocabulary section and list of around 12 to 15 classic quotations, along with between thirty and forty questions. ...

Great book about "waking up"
A great introduction to Sufism, and the concepts that Gurdjieff and Ouspenksy (not sure of my spelling there) explored. I really enjoyed all the stories and concepts of waking up, or the exoteric versus the esoteric. The book really helped me "wake up" a little more. And, the fact that is has a storyline, and is filled with small stories, makes it easy to stay with. Highly recommended.

insightful, thoughtful, and full of useful classroom tools
Bean's text is a thoughtful and useful pedagogical "storehouse" of ideas that teachers can use in their classrooms. Not only does the text provide the theory _behind_ collaborative/cooperative approaches to teaching, but it provides such ideas for a wide array of subjects. Anyone who values the teaching of writing--whatever the subject area--will find good value in Bean's text.
