Excellent presentation and helpful tips.
I found Sister Ceo to be motivational and enlightening. It addressed all of my fears about trying to establish my own business. Furthermore, it helped me to see that my fears are or have been the fears of many aspiring business women of color. I would like to see a sistehood of sister ceo's develop. This sisterhood would be like a sorority.

This is a true story of a miracle and the blessing of adoption and for reasons that there are so many wonderful people out there whom would love to be in a situation to adopt but because of the great expense they can't. Fortunatly my husband and I were very lucky or I like to look at it as this was meant to be so we adopted Robby. Now times have changed and this happened in 1970 but I feel if you ...

A work that is needed
This book traces the development of black enterprise in America. It is a return to the days when communities, including those in the tradition of black Americans, placed enterprise at the very center of their activity. It also reminds us of the blue-print for success in America. More importantly, it is a return to scholarship which concentrates on the importance of self-help, enterprise ...

This book was good. The only thing I hate is in the beginning there are so many names it takes a while to remember who is who. This book was interesting with great twist and turns. I love all of Zane's books.

Better...the second time around
Like the First Time was better for Claire, Lorraine, and Brooke the second time around. Well, Ms. Ray does what she does best and pens a tale of romance, desire, and companionship all rolled up into one. This book depicts three women with different ideologies but with a common dilemna....that bonds them together for life. Lorraine comes into the fold, the most mature of them all, but quickly ...

My Mentor on the Pages
This book was absolutely the best. I have read several books on starting your business and/or consulting and never has one inspired me to the next level. This book spoke to the soul of the African-American women in me who has grown weary of Corporate America. Before I read this book I only wished that someone of Fran Harris's abiltiy could mentor me one on one. Little did I know this ...

LOVED THE AUDIOBOOK
I was quite surprised by the size of the audio package, but after just a few minutes into cassette 1 I was hooked. I found this story of strength, character and love very satisfying. I know the book is lengthy but if you can get your hands on the audiobook it would be well worth it. While there are a host of characters in the novel I found that Campbell was quite true to the complexity of the ...

A Must Read For African Americans In The New Millennium
This book was an awesome read. Fraser was focused and expected nothing but the best from himself and others. He recognized the role that race plays in our society; however, he refused to allow it to limit his personal or business life. He offered insight on how to succeed as a minority in corporate America by encouraging and promoting racial pride, self-help, and self-development. This book ...

Black business activity has been sustained in America for almost four centuries. From the marketing and trading activities of African slaves in Colonial America to the rise of 20th-century black corporate America, African American participation in self-employed economic activities has been a persistent theme in the black experience. Yet, unlike other topics in African American history, the study of black business has been limited. General ...
