My 18 year old copy is still an inspiration!
This is NOT A COOKBOOK! This book is more a guide to throwing a great party that includes recipes as a bonus. The guide to setting up a bar alone makes it worth having. There are so many excellent ideas in here, beautiful photos, an emphasis on presentation and beautiful food....that never goes out of style.

A truly uplifting read!
One of my all-time favorite teacher books is Bill McBride's Entertaining an Elephant: a novel about learning and letting go. The dedication is to those who have chosen to teach love rather than fear. McBride's heartwarming story is about a teacher who resisted change, clung to the grammar drill and kill and had trouble dealing with students. The janitor shows him a better way to relate to ...

A new approach to entertaining
Casual entertaining is what this is. There are some delicious meals that will impress your guests! The peach bread pudding in my husbands favorite. The crab cakes are a huge hit with any crowd, and the tomato salad is delicious. A few items are time consuming but worth it. I think you will find this cook book very helpful in sprucing up your next dinner party!

A timesaver for busy people
After years of a stored crockpot, I updated mine and have begun using it, once again. I've made a half dozen of the recipes in the Fix-It and Forget-It Recipes for Entertaining. My family enjoys them and my friends enjoy the "comfort" of homecooking. Being busy outside the home doesn't mean making dinner plans with friends a rare event. With the ease of preparing quick, easy meals with ...

Super cute entertaining ideas
Great book for those who love to entertain and cook for others. Their themes are unique but easy to pull off, and I love how they also have crafts ideas on party favors, flower arrangements, decorating ideas, etc. in addition to the recipes. Probably my most favorite entertaining book so far.

absolutely amazing
This is an amazing book! While most people may not be able to re-create these parties, you can definitely get ideas from all of them. Take the ideas here and apply them to one or two tables or a small area. The pictures are wonderful and I am amazed at what is done in some of these parties. Would love to have a chance just to walk through one of these!!!!

A WAY TO GET WARMED UP FOR THE THINKING WORLD
I give this book five stars. Though the problems and puzzles were created several years ago, it introduces or, at least, reintroduces the reader to humorous and thought-provoking examples highlighting how intuitive and counterintuitive processes can collide into one another. Martin Gardner's witty writing style makes this book a pleasant pathway to the realms of logic. Neat and concise with its ...

Pure Inspiration
I was an average 'throw it together - if it's edible, good enough' cook. Then my brother (an excellent cook) gave me this book for Christams. I was truly inspired with the photography (every recipe is beautifully presented), so much so that I now take pride in producing chic, simple dishes that are simply delicious. If you consider cooking a chore and need inspiration, this book is a must!

GREAT COOKING IDEAS FOR PARTIES
This is a very practical book, fool of wonderful recipes. Very well written, simple to follow. I've only had a chance to try a couple so far, but with great success. Black and Orange Halloween Party for 24 was simple enough to do, and an instant hit. The Chocolate Chili with Beef, Pork, and Black Beans was to die for. I can't wait to try other dishes from this book. Highly recommend this cookbook.

Wonderful!
I am having trouble writing this book review without gushing, because it was truly a wonderful read. There wasn't one thing in the book I would change. Characters are hot and steamy and, though somewhat larger than life, still are people one hopes might really exist. The sex is super and the experiences are different from situations I have read about before. Not the usual doms and subs, but ...

Everything in this book is wonderful and, if you follow her directions, turns out. We give this book to all our friends and family because it's so wonderful! Steak in a bag is to die for and I'm not a steak fan. Moby mellon is great, Chocolate Mouse cake is wonderful. Liver Pate is always a hit. Can't go wrong with this one.
