A must read if you are going to Savannah!
I did read this book a couple weeks before my husband and I went to Savannah and it really did add to the trip...we could really relate to what we were seeing and what I read about in the book. I highly recommend it!

"MORE Gadgets" better than first book
The first Electronic Gadgets for the Evil Genius book had devices that were a bit more sci-fi and cool, but although the information was interesting, not many are going to actually be able to build any of them, as parts will be expensive and hard to find. This second GADGETS book actually has a few circuits that you could actually build with parts that are more available. As I said in the ...

a must read
I'm a psychologist who works with narcissists, so I wasn't sure I'd learn much from this book. In fact, it put so much in perspective. This book is especially a must-read for understanding that tyranny will only be stopped in this world if we recognize evil folks. Successful tyrants such as Iran's leader are often very smart. They know how to con folks into thinking they are harmless--as ...

Great True Crime
This book was well written and almost all the words were spelled correctly (a problem in some true crime books). The story was scary and the author made it believable. It wasn't a rehash of newpaper articles on the crime (also another problem with true crime books, in my opinion). Very good read.

The truth can be ugly
This is probably the best memoir I have come across by a former CIA case officer. Baer is spot on when it comes to how government operates. Who could ever imagine that those in the field are often times prevented from achieving superior results by risk averse management, or that those in Washington are too concerned about politics and/or "drinking and whoring" to comprehend what's truly unfolding ...

A smart and evil grouse for dinner.
Unique is an understatement. What other book full of carefully selected, international recipes includes a no-holds-barred "dossier of perfidy" for the 10 countries from where they originate and a bibliography richer than many doctoral theses? A cookbook with "Beer Butt Chicken" AND Zhen Qie Zi? Powerful and insightful critiques of Pakistani AND Israeli policies? In her analyst-world, the ...

Spy stuff and fun projects!!!
Great book! I give it five stars! Fun projects you can build cheaply using stuff you find in thrift stores or for free if you are willing to look inside Salvation Army dumpsters! Projects are great if you are a private eye, company internal security guy, or a kid who wants to really bother your family, friends and neighbors! On the more serious side,if you are into nature, you could probably use ...

A living thing seeks above all to discharge its strength--life itself is will to power
This was required reading for a graduate course in the Humanities. Friedrich Nietzsche's concept of a "will to power" is central to his philosophical beliefs, and a recurring theme in his book "Beyond Good and Evil." When Nietzsche was a budding philosopher, he admired and was influenced by the writings of another philosopher, Arthur Schopenhauer. However, Schopenhauer, like most scientists ...

Let Go of Your Evil Librarian Side and Enjoy
I met Brandon Sanderson and heard an author's reading this week. It gave a flavor of his personality and writing, enough to browse the shelf and pick up Alcatraz. Brandon wrote it as a quick break from crunching two serial volumes of his serious fantasy work. Don't let the young audience deter you, nor the dissuasions of librarians everywhere, who tried to block the book's publication. You'd ...

Exploring the real roots of Jihad and Palestinianism
This fascinating and revealing book outlines the life and career of the malignant Mufti Haj Al Husseini, a close collaborator of Hitler and a violent hater of Jews and Zionism. It explores explores his legacy of hate and terror that permeates the Islamic jihad and venomous and bottomless against Jews and Israel up to and including today. And I thought Electronic Projects Were Dead
Back many, many years ago, when the earth was flat and the sun went around the earth, I built a whole series of crystal radios. It seemed to me that something was lost when everything electronic became a chip and nearly everything you could imagine was made in Japan. Now all of a sudden comes along this book. No, alas, there's not a crystal radio in it, but there's a short wave radio that's ...

Refreshing take on problem of evil
What was great about this book is that I had to stop and reread some chapters. I really liked Wright's approach to evil. It is not just the philosophers mystery, but it is something that we all face each and every day in all sorts of ways and shapes. I had always thought that the best approach to dealing with the problem of evil was that of a classical apologist. How can a person define what is ...

Really, really good
*MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS* Well, this book was basically amazing. I had no prior knowledge of it - it was just a recommendation from a good friend. I saw it on the shelves of a book store, and bought it, because I knew my friend told me it was good. And oh baby, it was. So many plot twists and turns, character changes, and about three different climaxes. Maybe more. I lost track after the ...

So much in one small book....
The first half of the book dealt with many scary things, for example how Johanna suffered through demonic attacks for years, apparehtly due to generational curses and (I believe) some occultic items she had around her home, and how she witnessed demonic miracles. I kind of cringed thru those parts, because the author almost makes you feel you are are there yourself. The second half of the book ...

this book is a precursor to "Web of Evil". I liked the "blogging" concept within the book, thought it kept the story line going and showed the author's creativity.
