Fraud Examination (with ACL CD-ROM)6 reviews
W. Steve Albrecht, Conan C. Albrecht, ...

South-Western College Pub, 2008

Great book for students in accounting.
As soon as I started reading this book, I had no problems keeping up with the assigned readings in my class. The examples of what people will do to decieve others and themselves are gut wrenching, but give a true picture of what people do. This book has made me consider specializing in fraud.

The Art of Cross-Examination26 reviews
Francis L. Wellman

Book Jungle, 2008

I give it to every one of my new associates
As soon as they're hired, each of my new associates always recieves this book as a gift. The reason for this is twofold. On the one hand this book, dating from more than a century ago, imparts the kindly sensibilities the practice of law once had (and really, should still have). On the other hand, this book is masterful in its treatment of the process of cross examining witnesses. ...

Pocket Companion for Physical Examination & Health Assessment (Pocket Companion)4 reviews
Carolyn Jarvis

Saunders, 2007

Great handheld reference for nursing students!
I use this handheld book for quick references at clinicals and in class. It has great color illustrations and is very easy to read. The full sized text was assigned in my assessment class so I went ahead and bought the handheld. I would reccomend it to any nursing student. It covers everything, and at the end it has a full scale assessment in detail that I found very helpful on my final grade ...

United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination30 reviews
John J. Newman

Amsco School Pubns Inc, 2003

All You Need for AP and SAT Subject Test
This books is practically amazing. My school scheduled the AP US History course first semester (one semester only) and the class was a disappointment. Massive curving on tests and incompetent students abounded. I read AMSCO for the January SAT subject test and scored a 760. Then I read it again for the May AP test and scored a 5. Simply amazing.

Physical Examination of the Spine and Extremities21 reviews
Stanley Hoppenfeld

Appleton & Lange, 1976

Classic, gold standard
There is only one Hoppenfeld. For what it is, it's the best. It's all diagnosis. Not a word on treatment. But it gives a good review of not just the physical exam but also the underlying anatomy and biomechanics. Two other books are worth getting. Magee's Orthopedic Physical Assessment is a good background book to have on your shelf. It's written by a physical therapist, so the perspective ...

Orthopedic Physical Examination Tests: An Evidence-Based Approach1 review
Chad Cook, Eric Hegedus

Prentice Hall, 2007

Concise, quick resource material for special tests.
With the voluminous amount of "special tests" out there, this book is a concise, quick resource material to gauge effectivity of common orthopedic tests employed. As mentioned, it is evidence based and it grades the tests for merit regarding its sensitivity/specificity in ruling in/out specific orthopedic conditions. The book includes step by step written instruction with pictures in performing ...

Lynn S Bickley, Fiona R Prabhu

Karen Duderstadt

Good choice!
I am a pediatric nurse, RN working in a busy outpatient department. I am also a Pediatric instructor at City College of San Francisco. I found this book to be a great and quick reference. The pictures are great and they have boxes that will highlight key points and pediatric pearls; which highlight key physical findings and ...

DeGowin's Diagnostic Exam (Degowin's Diagnostic Examination)11 reviews
Richard F. LeBlond, Donald D. Brown

McGraw-Hill Professional, 2008

Carpal Navicular = Scaphoid
I can understand why Sonia said what she did, as I have seen "scaphoid" used more often. However, "navicular" is not wrong. Per Gray's Anatomy etc., this most commonly fractured wrist bone is indeed sometimes referred to as "navicular" or "carpal navicular" in the literature. I do not understand why she feels the book is "riddled with errors". If so, I'd like them pointed out or be referred to ...

A Comprehensive Review for the Certification and Recertification Examinations for Physician Assistants: ...5 reviews
Claire Babcock O'Connell

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2007

PANCE
This is all I used to study for the PANCE and it was worth every penny. I read several reviews that were not recommending this book but I strongly disagree. I paid a lot of money and attended a course in Chicago and I actually got more from reading this book. To be honest I read the book before I attended the review and learned nothing new at the review. Save your money on the course and buy this ...
