Very good reference material
This book is excellent consolidation of reference material which is sensibly divided into logical chapters. It covers every area of sport performance in well-documented and example-driven text, colour diagrams and graphical representations. It is a generic reference book, which does not focus on specific sports activities, but uses examples from a wide range of sports to demonstrate the body's ...

The teacher wants you to ge the book, you get the book
The book is ok as an intro to Exercise Physiology. Well done. Should be around 40 dollars and no more. We are getting charged way to much for textbooks. American Politicians and educational institutions should Help the students out and not require new publications of text, till the are really needed. Let some break throughs happen and not just a few word changes. Thank you amazon, for ...

Excellent undergraduate sport psychology textbook!
I used this book in my undergraduate and on-line graduate course in sport psychology since the first edition. This text does a good job of explaining theories and and describing sport psychology applications. Weinberg and Gould have developed a well organized, resourceful, and easy-to-read book that my students have enjoyed reading. College professors, this book has excellent ancillary materials.

The text has many illustrations and graphs to show you the dynamics of each concept. Perfect
I am quite athletic and injured some muscles/tendons. I was in physical therapy and wanted to know more about why specific exercises were helping more than I had expected. This is a perfect book for the aging athlete who will start getting more and more minor problems from wear and tear, that seem to take longer and longer to heal. This book describes quite clearly and completely activies that ...

This book is very accessable, which was obviously one of the goals of the author. Read it slowly and carefully and you will undoubtedly aquire some of the understanding necessary to consider human movement in terms of natural mechanics.

too many errors
This book is an adjunct to a meteorology class I am taking. It is full of errors, mathmatical ones, graphics, even page numbers. I expect better from Pearson. I don't know who edited this book but they did a poor job. Also the labs do not flow particularly well, and some things don't make sense. Not the greatest teaching tool I have ever seen, even with the cool CD.

The interdependence of mental, emotional, and physical health
With Eric Hagerman, John Ratey has written a book in which he explains -- in layman's terms (to the extent that is possible) -- how physical exercise can "supercharge [provide a `spark' to] mental circuits to avoid or overcome stress, sharpen thinking, lift mood, increase memory...and much more." Obviously, these are all highly desirable results to achieve. Alas, many children as well as adults ...

A Needed Warning For All Students of Scripture...
Don't let its small size fool you... This little book will open your eyes to the dangers that both aspiring and seasoned theologians face in the pursuit of knowledge. I like the fact that it's small enough to be read in a very short amount of time, yet provides so many important insights and warnings that you'll want to hang onto it and read it again and again!

An excellent compendium on work physiolgy
I received both my B.S., and M.S. in Exercise Biochemistry from Univ. of Mass, and Univ. of Colorado, Boulder, respectively. My former advisor studied under Brooks at Berkely (He received his Doctorate there).
