Excellent Book!
This book is very well written and composed. The beginning of the book sums up the basics, letting you know what will be covered. From then on, each chapter is full of nearly all of the information you need in order to complete each individual task. The chapters are neat, organized, and very precise. Each chapter tells you what it is about, then tells you how to do it. I bought this book ...

Regular expressions, part of a healthy breakfast
Pocket references are not meant to teach you anything from the beginning, but to be everyday references in known and new environments. In other words, if you don't know regular expressions, then go to "Mastering Regular Expressions". If you're still here, then you'll get a cheat sheet on steroids for languages ranging from bug-prone JavaScript to the King and Queen of robustness, Perl and Python. ...

Great Guide to the Process of Drawing
This book is an excellent resource. It is very clear and the examples are really very helpful. If you are a beginner or an artist of years, there is very much to learn from this book. The text does offer some excercises, but it's greater strength is from the explanation of processes. The book doesn't play out as an analysis of art pieces, but describes the process of creating an expressive and ...

A great resource for an artist
This book contains black and white headshots of people showing different emotions. It starts with younger adults and moves through the ages. Each person is shown from different points of view of the same emotion. The personality types are varied too. Not just glamour girls and boys, average Americans of different ethnicities. As an illustrator this is a big help.

A Favorite!
The Artist's Complete Guide to Facial Expression by Gary Faigin is one of my favorite art books because it isn't limited to a particular medium. My goal as an artist/illustrator is to portray people as realistically as possible, and this book is filled with hundreds of pictures of expressions along with the facial muscles that produce those expressions. The demonstrations show the artist how to ...

I really like this book. I don't write reviews very often, but I was really impressed with this book. It is full color and very clearly written. I wish more technology books were this nice. It is asthetically enjoyable to work with.

Great Beginnings with MEW
As a seasoned website developer and avid fan of online publishing, I have tried to keep up with new developments in website design programs over the years. In my opinion, the more user friendly, the better it is for me. I never managed to learn HTML, but succeeded using the GUI interface for which Microsoft is so well known. I utilized Microsoft FrontPage from the very beginning. However, as time ...

Best material I have seen on regular expressions
I went through several books and online tutorials and never found anything that did a good comprehensive job of explaining regular expressions. This book does. If you are having trouble "getting it", I highly encourage reading this book. You will be extremely enlightened even after the first few chapters.

Absolutely helpful
I'd been trying to use a book from Microsoft, but it didn't help much. I got this book, and I was able to work on my website much more quickly. I'm not completely done yet, but I couldn't be as far as I am without this book. I give it high marks.

Helps you get started in understanding how to develop in Silverlight.
I bought this book soon after MS released the Beta 1 of Silverlight 2. It helped me get started with learning the Expression Blend tool and how to do some basic design. It is not a programmers book nor does it attempt to be one. It is a good introduction on how to get around in Blend so you don't have to figure it out yourself. And along the way the authour makes it enjoyable.

Finally, a first class book on Blend
I bought the 'other' expression blend book on the market and while I found it worthwhile, it didn't do what I wanted it to - teach me much about blend. You won't have that problem with this book. The book is strong in just about every respect and is reminiscent of Adam Nathan's superb WPF book. There are several examples in it all of which are useful. In fact, the master project so to ...

This is a good book for artist.
A ton of good photos to work from here. As always you may never find just the right photo to work from but with this many photos in one book you will come much closer to finding what your looking for. I could cry about the printing being to dark or wine about some of the grainy pics but hay for this price and not having to put up with a real brat and there over baring mother this is worth it ...
