This one Really Gets it Right
Like a lot of people, I first became interested in the gangsters and outlaws of the 1920s and 30s after the film "Bonnie and Clyde" appeared. Hundreds of books and articles were published at that time. Unfortunately, most of them were highly dubious. Many well-intentioned but clueless authors merely skimmed through the often inaccurate newspaper accounts of the day (or mined "quickie" books ...

Loved it!
I'm a teenage girl, and I really loved reading this book because it's something that actually helped me and gave me tips! I love how the book tells you about things that make a date work, and other bright/not so great aspects that you have to take into account on a date. The dialogue that they present to you for things that your parents might say to you are really funny and made me laugh. I ...
The U.S. Constitution: And Fascinating Facts About It

Great little book
Any book that covers the U.S. Constitution is, in my considered opinion, worth having. This one is no exception. There is quite a bit of trivia information, which is delightfull and informative, at the begining of the book. The Constitution, no matter how it is reviewed, is still the Constitution. Each book written about it may have it's own take on the wording, but the wording of the ...

fun, though a bit chaotic
Absolute a fun book to read. Lots of fascinating facts and funky pictures and illustrations. However, this book is more suitable for older kids. This organization may be a bit too confusing for younger ones.

Great book
This book basically told the story of Lisa's life, from her childhood, to acting, and then about her marriage and parenthood. The chapters were well broken down into various aspects of her life, with her telling us what God has taught her at the end of each chapter. I loved the humor in the book, especially the words of wisdom from Lisa's mother.

Chris Regan has an "interesting" mind.
I've enjoyed Chris's blog for several years now, so I have been looking forward to the publication date. I've got to tell you THIS BOOK IS HILARIOUS!!, but there are two caveats you should be aware of: 1) Do not use this book to cram for your American History final. 2) Do not take this book into an upscale restaurant, thinking you will read it while you are waiting for your meal to arrive. You ...

Blast From the Past
Although this was first published in 1947 - over 60 years ago!!! - it is as fresh as if it had been written today. Sure, we know much more about the quantum world, the composition of the atom and the universe itself but Gamow successfully accomplishes the subtitle of the book: Facts and speculation of Science. The clarity of language, mathematics, formulae and examples make this a delight to ...

For Any Baseball Fan - Casual or Serious
This is an incredible compendium of terms and phrases used in baseball, and even if you know the game very well or an avid fan, I can pretty much guarantee there will be something new in here for you, whether it is a phrase or the genisis of the phrase. The decision to buy this book is really a can of corn and if you are undecided, just remember that when you get to a fork in the road you ...

True in every respect...
As Willie Nelson once said, "Most folks aren't with their first choice. That's what keeps the juke-box playing." The book is a compilation of research. It is not a novel or a book for those who just want stories to read. The heartbreaking parts are true as well. It might help others understand, but it is a 'must read' for parents of teenagers. Think twice before you get involved in your ...

A Little Piece of the Disney Magic
The Walt Disney World Trivia Book is like the friend I've always wanted who flies me down to Disney (for free!)and proceeds to take me through every park, attraction, and resort, telling me things I never knew about my favorite place. With a loyalty only a true Disney connoisseur can possess ("ever hear of some guy named 'Bugs Bunny'? Hmph. Me neither."), Lou presents his information the way I ...

Perfect Book!
I bought this book for my 10 yr old son. I made sure I read it first then gave it to him to read. We followed with a great discussion. I had researched a lot of other books and now that I have had the book/conversation with my son I am glad I chose this book! I was not ready to discuss masterbating, wet dreams or homosexuality with my child yet and this book DID NOT mention these things. It was ...

The Complete Guide
I purchased The Legacy Guide after checking out several books from the library on the subject first. I found this text met my needs better than any of the others I scanned. It is very readable, clearly organized, and the workbook approach was perfect for motivating me to write. I also downloaded the work forms from TheLegacyGuide.com so I could make notes without having to get into Word each ...

God Made Your Body
I recently read the book by Jim Burns titled God Made Your Body. I sat down and read it with my 4 year old daughter. I have read books similar to this one before so I was interested to see the approach that Mr. Burns would take. He starts out talking about the differences in people in regard to eye, hair, and skin color. Then he talks about the differences in height. He also mentions how children ...

Important to my childhood
As an adoptee, I remember reading and re-reading this book many times with my parents. This book was always on my bookshelf and did much to help me understand adoption, babies, family and most importantly the love my parents have for me. Like a reviewer before me, my original copy has been lost, lent with love to another family who had adopted a child. Now I can't wait to pass this on to another ...
