Soul of a Highlander (The Daughters of the Glen, Book 3)8 reviews
Melissa Mayhue

Pocket, 2008

Another awesome book by Melissa Mayhue...
I enjoyed this one almost as much as the first. I did enjoy it more than the second book. I thought Mairi & Ramos had great chemistry together! I made myself only read about 50 pages a day-just to make it last longer, but thought about it all day long. That's the making of a great book isn't it?-thinking about it all day long when you're not reading it! I enjoy how she brings in the characters ...

Melissa Mayhue

Pocket, 2007

New author GREAT Book
I basiclly picked this up because it was a time travel book not knowing the author. Most time I am disappointed but NOT this time! I loved it so much that I ordered her other 2 books and I'm reading the 2nd. one in the series now (which is turning out just as good) and I'm taking the book 3 in series on vacation with me! You SHOULD read this book you'll like it.

The Spiderwick Chronicles (Boxed Set): The Field Guide; The Seeing Stone; Lucinda's Secret; The Ironwood ...135 reviews
Holly Black, Tony DiTerlizzi

Spiderwick Chronicles - boxed set of 5 books
After we watched the movie, my daughter wondered why there needed to be a field guide for so few mythological creatures. She was right!!! The movie cut out so many main elements and characters, that the books were a welcome relief to know the story that the authors actually intended to share. The size and storage box make them truly easy to join my other collectables.

How to Find Flower Fairies14 reviews
Cicely Mary Barker

Warne, 2007

Simply gorgeous Fairy pop-up book!
I love pop-up books and have been a long-time Robert Sabuda fan. Well, after buying a couple of Cicely Mary Barker's fairy books, I think they are quite wonderful in their own right. In "How To Find Fairies", we have a beautiful pop-up book that allows us an 'intimate' look at fairies and their habitats. As the great video review posted by another reviewer shows, there are altogether 5 big ...

Valiant: A Modern Tale of Faerie68 reviews
Holly Black

Simon Pulse, 2006

Unique, Amazing, Fascinating, Raw
An amazing and unique modern day fairy tale. For anyone who loves fantasy or fairy stories, or books about strong women, i would suggest. Think "the weetzie bat books" and make it more "today" (the main girl is prone to think of video games often, etc), sexier, more raw, more dangerous, and add some serious girl toughness. think tank girl living underground in the tunnels in nyc and battling ...

A successful romance writer with writer's block, Sarah Douglas travels to Scotland to work on her novel. Sarah must also come to terms with her ability to feel the emotions of people she touches. Ink Exchange36 reviews
Melissa Marr

HarperTeen, 2008

Craving for More
I read this title in less than a day, I wouldn't move from my bed until I finished! The characters are different and more believable than anything you'd find in Twilight. Melissa Marr has a fresh and appetizing way to introducing and keeping us in the world she has created. It's dark and forbidden and keeps me thinking about the book long after I've finished.

Beautiful Photography
Great natural photos. My pre school daughter loved the ideas and created her own fairy house by gathering natural elements from the woods. She adds to it every weeek.

How to Draw and Paint Fairies: From Finding Inspiration to Capturing Diaphanous Detail, a Step-by-Step Guide ...25 reviews
Linda Ravenscroft

Watson-Guptill, 2005

Good reference source
This little book offers a surprising amount of material, not only to a new artist wanting to learn how to get started but also to artists with more experience seeking to refresh their knowledge of the basics and to expand their imaginations. Even non-artists would enjoy the illustrations, especially the collection of fairy paintings by a variety of fantasy artists at the end of the book. ...

The Faerie Path #3: The Sorcerer King: Book Three of The Faerie Path9 reviews
Frewin Jones

Eos, 2008

Building vocabulary
The best way I know of to help a child to build their vocabular is for them to read. I bought this book for my niece. She asked for it so I got it for her. Anytime I can get her to read and not watch Television is good for her. Stephen Richey Author of The Galley

The Stolen Child275 reviews
Keith Donohue

Anchor, 2007

Innovative and deeply felt
I picked up the book expecting to find something of a fantasy novel. The subject matter--the tale of a changeling who becomes a human child and the stolen human child who becomes a changeling--suggests that it will be a novel filled with the fantastical. While it has many elements of fantasy, it is really at heart a coming-of-age novel and a taught, well-plotted mystery. The novel is rich with ...

Beautiful YA urban fantasy
Aislinn sees faeries. She has always been able to see them - and she's always kept this fact a secret, especially from the faeries. But now two of them are stalking her - and one is the Summer King! Suddenly Aislinn's rules for keeping safe from the faeries are failing her, and she wants out. Keenan, the Summer King, is not about to let that happen. I loved this book! It had me reading until I ...

She's No Faerie Princess (The Others, Book 2)23 reviews
Christine Warren

St. Martin's Paperbacks, 2006

Superb
All she wanted was just a vacation! Okay, so vacationing to the human world is banned by Queen Mab but Fiona's never listened well to authority. Especially not when the authority is her aunt! However, a demon isn't supposed to be waiting for her when she arrives. Worse yet, the way back to Faerie is now barred and she's trapped with cranky werewolf Tobias Walker as an escort. Can things get any ...

Raine: The Lords of Satyr14 reviews
Elizabeth Amber

Kensington Aphrodisia, 2008

Erotic romance about love and acceptance, hot believable sex, and unusual heroine
The most startling and intriguing feature of this book is the strong heroine Jordan. I've read many erotic romances and can hardly believe I haven't read such a heroine before. Five stars for this author for coming up with her! Jordan is born into an untenable situation and finds a way to overcome and find love and freedom. She serves as a poignant commentary on accepting others as they ...

The Field Guide (The Spiderwick Chronicles, Book 1)138 reviews
Holly Black

Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, 2003

An excellent series for the little ones.
Finally a series of books that is fun, positive and cute as a gnome's nose! Set in an old Victorian home, the three Grace children must cope with the absence of their father, the strains of moving and a very peculiar housemate. The Grace household is believable and the sibling rivalry and arguments are as real as any I have had with my own brothers and sisters. Beneath all the realism lurks a ...
