Reasonable Faith: Christian Truth and Apologetics

Great Apologetics Resource
This was an excellent book on Christian apologetics. By far, it is the best book on the subject by a contemporary author. In this book, Craig argues for the Christian faith using what has been called the "classical" method of apologetics. That is, he argues first for the existence of God (theism) and then for the truth of the Christian faith. The first chapter deals with religious ...

The title says it all
This book is a great resource for practical Christian apologetics. It is well thought out and presented well. As Christians we and our children need to be prepared to give answers. The evidence will only make your faith stronger. I want all my friends, Christians, skeptics, agnostic and atheists to read this book.

Good comparative faith book
I really liked this book because it helped me learn about other faiths in one book and to and how through sharing faith, one's own faith can be deepened. I bought more copies for my women's group at church to read and discuss. So far, they are enjoying it and learning new things, too.

The Faith Instinct: How Religion Evolved and Why It Endures

Finally, A Great Evolutionary Account of Religion
Nicholas Wade established himself years ago as one of the country's best science journalists but The Faith Instinct is his finest book. Indeed, it is by far the best book on religion written from an evolutionary perspective, far surpassing the cranky and deeply flawed works of Harris, Hitchens, and Dawkins. I say this because these other books fail to acknowledge that religion is universal and ...

Fuel for endless passionate debates...
With arguably no topic in America more contentious and hotly debated than religion (oddly enough), it is important to ponder the rationality of stated and unstated religious wars (or just one-on-one killings for the same purposes). In absence of a compulsory high-school course on "comparative world religion and philosophy," this book, as a minimum, provides a few interesting observations. ...

Clear and concise
As a Baptist Minister, I am aware of the varying views church members hold concerning topics such as salvation, grace and the nature of Christ. Many church members have trouble specifically describing what their views are, but their comments and their actions convey their beliefs. This book is an outstanding resource for anyone who desires a deeper, clearer explanation of what it means to be ...

Harvey Cox Reply to Jesus on the Future of Faith
"Harvey Cox was therefore concerned not so much with 'eternal' truths as with truth for today, truth for action, and he suspected that a faith which responded primarily to ideas was more likely to be idolatrous and less likely to be redemptive than one that responded to events and experience." [...] Logic and discovery of faith: Harvey Cox, a young Harvard professor became the ...

Loved it!
Voddie Baucham is a wonderful speaker, and author. I love his teachings. I also recommend that you listen to his centrality of the home CD from vision forum. Some of the things he says on the CD is a repeat of what he says in his book. The cd is not exactly like his book, but it will give you another great teaching of his. Vision Forum has many good teachings that my family listen to on a daily ...

Having been raised a Southern girl and now having the privilege (and challenge) of influencing my daughters in the art of Southern grace and charm, I found Ronda's book both encouraging and entertaining. It has provided a lighthearted and inspiring respite during the past weeks as I have been facing a challenging personal journey of my own. Having spent most of the summer in the hospital ...

Fascinating Biography of Charles and Emma Darwin
Few books offer as much human insight, inspiration, humor, and encouragement to enjoy science as this one. Heiligman has a sure touch as a biographer, using the telling remark or anecdote to flesh out the characters and explain their struggles, conflicts, and resolutions. Anyone who would like a short book on one of the world's great thinkers--and the conditions of home life that allowed him to ...

All about the action and badness of a good gun and a good bike
This is the first book in the Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter. Currently Hunter has three books sold in this series. The second book "Blood Cross" is due out on Jan 5 of 2010. I really, really loved this book. It was fast-paced action with a great world, great characters, and an interesting mythos behind Jane's character. Jane Yellowrock is a Skinwalker, at least she thinks she is. ...

Faith Seeking Understanding
I am reading this book for a class and have enjoyed every moment of it. At times it has been hard to grasp all the conversations that have been going on about the various theological principles but the point that Migliore, the author, makes are almost life changing. The beauty in a better understanding of God, Creation, Life, Purpose, Freedom and so much more that this book has wrestled with is ...

amazing book about faith, love and family
I am a Picoult fan and have read several of her books. This book is great. Jodi always writes from the perspective of a woman with such clarity and imagination, its amazing. This book dives into the doubt of motherhood that we all face but many are too afraid to speak of.
