cute-as-a-button!
The book is filled with whimsical, contemporary applique blocks. The cover shows mostly the flowers but there's some cute-as-a-button bugs - especially a rather large lady bug block. While the block designs are shown individually in the first half there's a number of projects in the second half. I think these would work for any age - young, old and everything in between.

Beautiful. Bloody. A must read!
This book is for anyone who has ever dreamed of making their own movies, coming up with crazy plots ideas, crazy ideas for posters, etc. This is a book for those who enjoy the sleazy grindhouse movies of the 70s through the 80s: Horror, SF, exploitation, blaxploitation, action, and everything in between. This book is for anyone who can appreciate creativity that is clearly a result of a labor ...

Much needed guide
I was a "festival virgin" at last year's event and this book was a life-saver. Cannes is expensive, but if you know where to go and what to avoid, it can be a much more enjoyable experience. The insight into a rather confusing festival structure was also incredibly useful. Lonely Planet for filmmakers!

Keep current with new plays
Take your time to enjoy this collection of new plays which premiered at the annual Humana Festival, produced by the Actors Theatre of Louisville. Pulitzer Prize winner Lee Blessing is represented with a compelling script "Great Falls," which chronicles an antagonisitic and revelatory relationship between stepfather and stepdaughter who launch a road trip alone. Gina Gionfriddo's "Becky Shaw," ...

This one's a favorite!
Elsa Beskow's books honor the curiousity and innocence of children. No wonder Hearth Song toy stores have carried them all at one time or another. We love The Flowers' Festival not just for the beautiful illustrations, but because it gives names and faces to all our favorite flowers and weeds. This book has deepened our curiousity and appreciation of our daily world. Beskow's books remind us ...

A different kind of humor and wit that may seem to be disrespectful to some...but it is not. After all we all honestly struggle with who we are and what we ae called to do and sometimes we make a mess in the mean time. Everyone should have a Miss Rita in their life yo set them straight! I hope to read more about the further adventures of Grand Praire and its people. I think there are a lot ...

Then it explians how the cherry blossom trees came to Washington and how the US picked up the traditions of the Cherry Blossom Festival. On your way to managing an Event
I am currently in an Event Management course and this book has helped me understand the workings of the industry. It is very clear and has seperate sections relating to the industry eg, catering and rostering. I bought it because I live in Australia and it has relevant articles to events held here particularly the Sydney Olympic games, it also has large references to Edinbourough/England and ...

Over 300 dishes from 75 Southern food festivals
Over 300 dishes from 75 Southern food festivals provide a fine representation of modern Southern cooking. Georgia Pecan-Crusted French Toast, Cornmeal-breaded Fried Okra, and Moon Pie Bread Pudding are but a few of the easy dishes blending old and new approaches. Photos highlight some dishes but the majority don't need them.

Excellent Advice
Mr. Holland's book presents extremely practical advice on how to navigate the film festival world, from submitting your film to getting the most out of your experience at the festival, and following up with your contacts afterward. He even includes xtra tips for filmmakers of shorts, who normally get pushed to the side in favor of the feature length films at major festivals. Excellent advice for ...

Amazing
Great work of new american plays - one of the best Humana Festivals I have read. The cast of actors, directors, designers, and fight choreographers are top notch and excellent resource of up and coming people to see on stage. The performances of these plays only helped to illuminate the writing - reading the words is just as great as seeing the productions - Actors Theatre of Louisville's ...

CD is lacking
Nothing wrong with the transcriptions here or the book in general. However, and perhaps I missed it somewhere in the description, the audio CD here is not what I expected. I hoped for a CD to play along with. I expected a guitar accompaniment (even hoped for a clawhammer banjo accompaniment), but instead, all you get are the fiddle parts played solo. This is not useful for practice purposes. ...

A beloved place
Enter the world of an English village. I hope it still exists; the warmth and love that a group of people can and should have despite the problems that can come in everyday life. I have such a deep affection for the people of these small English towns and Miss Read captures them perfectly - the village fetes, the stories of a town and people living their lives. What must be said, in this day ...

Raves for Event Marketing by Leonard H. Hoyle
When I began reading this book, I knew it was a textbook and expected the normal dry, wordy textbook in which information is buried under an avalance of prose. I was delighted to find a work that was clear, complete, informative, and interesting to read. I found that I looked forward to each chapter and subject. The information is presented in prose, lists of important topics, and highlighting ...
