GREAT, LOOKING FOR INFO ON BIOMEDICAL, THIS IS IT
I have read practically every biomedical book out there on autism for my little boy. Most of my books find new homes. This book will be on my shelf for a long time. If you have read Dr. Kenneth Bock book on autism and Dr Mccandles book you know they are good and this one is right up there with them. I felt the first part of the book was a little drawn out. The last part of the book has a ...

Workbook For Aphasia
The workbook is very beneficial for stroke survivors. There is a variety of lessons that are simple to more challenging. So where ever the stroke survivor is at in his/her recovery, they can start at any section. My mother really enjoys using this workbook. Its a little expensive but well worth every dollar.

Straightforward and easy to use, but lacked on the interpretation details
I'm a fan of these sorts of texts having found the Essentials of the WAIS-III a great resource I keep returning too. I imagine it will be the same with this text as I found it really easy to use and easy to read. Perhaps my only complaint is that there is little discussion about interpretation. Otherwise a great resource in scoring up your WISC-IV.

Outstanding
I could not understand why my child had traits of both autism and Asperger's. I had heard of hyperlexia but thought it only applied to children that could read by age two. I was mistaken. After reading this book, I realized that my child has high-functioning autism AND hyperlexia (which has now been confirmed by two professionals). I saw so much of my own child in this book, including the way ...

SOS - - At last, much needed social skills help for our children!
As a parent of a child with a Pervasive Developmental Disorder, I know first-hand how Dr. Michelle Dunn is one of the definitive experts in the field of children on the PDD spectrum. Her intervention with our daughter has been invaluable over the past year and one-half. I am also mindful of how difficult it can be for one to access a definitive expert in this growing field. This text contains a combination of literature reviews, empirical research, and case histories to show a balanced approach to the Autism/Aspergers diagnostic categorisation debate. While the editors clearly state their belief that what is knowns as Aspergers Syndrome is a misnomer of High Functioning Austism, they have included a critical set of papers which contain strong evidence that Aspergers ...

What a great starter book!
I am a mother to a six year old boy just diagnosed with Very mild aspergers syndrome in December 2007.This book was recommended to me by autismnotes.com forums. What the doctor didn't explain to me this book did. And it was explained in very easy terms to understand I found myself exclaiming "so that's why he does that!" over and over again, it's wonderful. If you are an educator or have a child ...

Excerpt of review from Contemporary Psychology
"The recognition that people with Asperger Syndrome differ from each other and have an individual profile of impairments and needs is a relatively recent one in professional circles. Less has been written about psychological assessment and much less has been written about intervention. This book's attention to both will be welcomed by parents and sufferers, as well as professionals." Digby ...

This book reads like a college or medical textbook, but it is the best source I have found for information on autism in people who are not mentally retarded as well. I found parts of it extemely helpful and parts way over my head. Worth ...
