Warning - Kindle version has no appendix
If you are considering purchasing the Kindle version of this book, be very aware that you will not have access to the appendix. Like any fantasy book, there are plenty of invented parts of the world that are not fully described, and the appendix gives helpful definitions that give the book more color. You will not receive this on the Kindle version. Notwithstanding the issue, the novel itself ...

Forced reading vs. selective reading
The book was required reading for my 15 year old daughter. She hated it. While discussing the necessity of completing the required reading whether she liked it or not (I discussed loudly, she whined loudly) I picked it up and was fascinated with it from the beginning and was totally blown away with the ending. For a sci-fi and abstract reading junkie it's a gold mine. For a concrete thinker ...

Incredible!
This is a MUST READ! I find myself a little sad that I've finished it and am dying for the third book to be released next month. Not a series that I thought I'd be interested in but I was obsessed with reading it...didn't want it to end but couldn't stop reading!

One of Fern's best
I have read all of the "Sisterhood" series and this one is by far one of the best. I can't wait until Oct. for #18. The use of all of the characters in this book was by far the best and there were no slow or boring parts. Thanks again for a great read Fern.

WOW! Powerful, fun, fast, well done.
This book was amazing. I read it all night and even cried! What an amazing writer. It was very violent for a young audiance so I would recomend 14 and up and even then you might want to preview it yourself before your teen reads it. There was a nice romance between the charaters but it never went farther than a kiss whitch was great! I loved this book and will be reading the 2 as soon as I can ...

Inspiring!
Such an inspiring story. Being an Afghan and seeing the selflessness Mr. Mortenson displays gives me hope that the rest of mankind can be as open minded as seeing the middle east as full of PEOPLE (as opposed to terrorists). The message of the book was very beautiful and I would highly recommend it for anybody looking for a "feel-good" story.

ACE!
This is excellent. I read it in a day I couldn't put it down. I am a begining golfer and I love the lessons. I am an artist so painting lesson was great and the game with the cowboys I've played and thought when I've played it this would be a great way to putt. It's a thought prevoking, full of spiritual and golf wisdom. After all, golf can be spiritual when we let it. This is a ACE! AKA HOLE ...

Collins Lingo Redux
At a CEO Dialogues roundtable recently, leaders recommended their favorite books--or recently read books. The list and variety is always intriguing. Usually, it's the recommender, not the title, that causes me to succumb to Amazonitis. I've noticed that smart people remain smart by reading smart books. But...what really got my attention that day was the recommendation from a CEO. She had ...

Very good book
The part about the transfer market is really good. In the end, the book gets a little boring but still very much worth reading for anyone that loves football and the facts and strategies behind it.

My grandson loves it
I bought this book for my grandson who is now 10 months old. He loves looking at the pictures and watching his Nana make a fool of herself while she sings the song. I like the fact that the music notes are included on the back of the book. I had forgotten the melody so that really helped.

Always liked Sidney Sheldon books, and always will. I have just about the entire collection. I thought he was deceased, so who's now writing the stories?

A very talented writer who lost some direction.
I was captivated by the author's style of writing and his rich and beautiful words. I was even more captivated by the mysterious plot - I kept asking myself, "how is this all going to come together into some sort of cohesive 'ah ha' moment?" Unfortunately, it doesn't. The strong characters, rich backdrop, and theological notions were seemingly escalating to a meeting point, but then everything ...

Don't Waste Your Money on Other Prep Courses!
This is the first time I've ever taken the time to write a review for a product, but I couldn't not say something about the quality of the PowerScore books. Let me say, I started preparing for the February 2010 LSAT in December 2009, and I did so by taking a $1300 Kaplan prep course. I scored a 148 on my diagnostic, and my scores with Kaplan never rose above a 153. I often felt as though their ...

Everything We Wish We Had Known Before Voting
The overarching lesson of this open-kimono treatment of the 2008 presidential candidates is that the amount of pressure these people are under is basically unbearable, and that Barack Obama was the one who cracked the least. Press treatment of this book at publication time focused on Senator Reid's remarks about his colleague Obama's skin color and dialect, but those turned out to be among the ...

an application of evolutionary psychology
Human beings like what is hard to get. Women are human beings. Therefore, women like things that are hard to get. You may ask why human beings like what is hard to get. The reason behind this is that after tens of thousands of years of evolution, human brains involves in a way to maximize the chance of survival and reproduction using limited resources and time. Getting what is hard to get is ...

Great read
Money Ball is an excellent evaluation of the use of statistics in persuing baseball players; as well as personalities, writers, critics, etc. of the "game". Being rather a novice in sports, I just enjoyed watching and cheering for teams/players, this book gave me a lot to think about and made watching that much better. This book will give you a more intense look at not only the GAME but also what ...

My girls can read and I'm a non-native English speaker... any questions?
I've started teaching my older daughter how to read in the months before she entered Kindergarten using this book. When we were in lesson 70-something, school started and we had stopped using this book and chose to focus on the phonics lessons provided by our virtual charter school instead. With her foundation, she breezed through most of the exercies till she got to the very end of the school ...
