Lord, Teach me to Study the Bible in 28 Days by Kay Arthur
This is one of the best of Kay's Lord Series Books! My husband and I are using this study in our Sunday School class doing one lesson each week. You can do it as written where you do a study each day and complete it all in 4 weeks. This book presents the Inductive method of studying the Bible so that you are really observing exactly what it says, rather than just deciding what you think it says. ...

Very useful, and a visual delight - outstanding!
Tim Newbury's talent and expertise in landscape design make this a gem of a book - I wanted to walk right into the gardens he illustrates with! He presents designs for a variety of plot shapes, including how to transform awkward shapes into visually appealing areas. He offers low cost starter gardens, low maintenance gardens, formal gardens, plant lover's gardens and family gardens in a ...

British History that is fun
This is a such a fun history of England. My children love reading this book. We read a couple of chapters aloud each week. We have just started our second time through. The chapters are relatively short. For the most part, the book is organized chronologically by King (or Queen). Each chapter (or sometimes several chapters) hits the high points of each King or Queen's reign. Make ...

Are you a real cowboy?
If you're a real cowboy or even if you're not, you should enjoy this book. It was written about true things that happened during the author's many years of working on and owning a ranch. Most of the "cowboy poetry" is hilarious as you picture in your mind what the poem is telling you about. The scenery on the covers is beautiful too. Very few people realize that not all of Kansas is flat! ...

A stunning source of inspiration
After leafing through this most gorgeous of gardening books, your heart will ache with an overwhelming desire to visit the "Gardens in France". 340 pages of divine photographs, showcasing more than 40 glorious gardens. I cannot recommend this book highly enough, for if a picture tells a thousand words, then the words will speak for themselves. From topiary, to palaces, to potagers... there's an ...

The Gardens of Gertrude Jekyll
As a serious midwestern home gardener who owns many gardening books, I was extremely pleased with this book. There is much valuable information in the way of photographs and writings. Gertrude Jekyll was doing 100 yrs ago, what modern landscapers claim they invented--that is, low maintenance, informal looks. The combination of her informal plantings applied to formal settings makes a ...

A quality journal
The Barefoot in Paris Travel Journal was a fine, quality journal. It is perfection. I had purchased the journal for my Mother, who is a huge Ina Garten fan. For some reason, she thought that the journal was going to be filled with Ina's recollections of her travels. In that respect, Mother was disappointed. Other than that, we both were extremely pleased with it & would highly recommend it.

A Touching Story
Filipinnis Garten, by Walter Matthias Diggelmann, is a touching tale about the loves and fears of a man as told through his wife's diary using the method of psychoanalyzing his childhood. It is a complex and loving tale written with skill and verve by one of finest writers in the German language during the sixties and seventies; much underrated and never a disappointment,Diggelmann's humanity ...

Outstanding! Could Save the Business of America....
The author, dean of the Yale business school, has rendered a most valuable service to the business leaders of America, and in the process opened the possibility that new forms of business education, new forms of business practice, and new forms of moral global governance might yet emerge in America. Originally inspired by the "double-whammy" of 9-11 and Enron on business--(the one costing ...

Forget the Fat
Forget the fat. Or don't think about it anyway. Every recipe I've tried in this book is not only easy to make, but delicious. I've made the pesto and the pasta salad that uses it, both with great results. I've made the oriental dressing and have used it for salads as well as for a marinade for chicken. This is fantastic stuff--yummy and great for parties. You can't go wrong.

I love this book & have made nearly every recipe. My copy is covered in spattered oil & sticky fingers. I have given this as gifts to most of my friends & am now buying it for my sister's 40th birthday. Hands down favorite is the fish & chips. Chicken soup not so much. Enjoy.

Faith, conviction, courage and determination
Caress Garten is the epitomy of faith, courage and determination. While not all may share her strong faith commitment, her story is one of strength in conviction. A neophyte in the day-to-day process of presenting and having a bill pass through Indiana legislature, she is determined to introduce legislation which will place responsibility on the owners of "dangerous" dogs. She would learn in ...

Great Food in No Time at All!
I have recently become a fan of The Barefoot Contessa (Ina Garten) and wanted to own one of her lavishly illustrated coffee table cookbooks. I checked them all out of my local library and settled on this, her first book--not because it is better, but because it contains more of the recipes I am interested in. The photos are lovely, directions easy to follow and taste is superb, plus they are not ...
