National Geographic

National Geographic, 2007

best of it's kind
I have other books of this kind and this is by far the best. It is a great size for taking along. What I like best about it is the places to visit off the scenic drive itself. Making for a trip in a trip

National Geographic Complete National Parks of the United States8 reviews
Mel White

National Geographic, 2010

A powerful pick
Complete National Parks of the U.S. is a 'must' for any collection catering to domestic travelers. While many competing books on the nation's parks are in print, this one differs with its inclusion of monuments, battle sites, scenic trails, and seashores with in-depth visiting details paired with color photos. Discussions of how to best view the park offer details not just on the park, but ...

National Geographic World Atlas for Young Explorers, Third Edition12 reviews
National Geographic

National Geographic Children's Books, 2007

Excellent atlas for elementary and middle grade students
I have been looking for a good atlas to use with my 5-year-old daughter and of all the ones I've browsed through, this seems the best. There is a how-to guide at the beginning of the book which provides useful guidelines on how to maximize use of this atlas, and the bonus is that this atlas is also interactive - there's yellow-and-black icons on most pages which lead to a website that allows ...

National Geographic Field Guide to the Birds of North America, Fifth Edition77 reviews
Jon L. Dunn, Jonathan Alderfer

National Geographic, 2006

Perfect Condition
The book arrived in perfect condition. I have had problems with the way other sellers ship their books and have had to return a couple of purchases in the past. Condition of book as described- new with small remainder mark on bottom. Other than that, it looks brand new. Will order from this seller again.

Geographic Information Systems and Science9 reviews
Paul A. Longley, Michael F. Goodchild, ...

Wiley, 2005

Easy to understand
It has examples and explains things clearly. It is a book about GIS theory and design, and understanding GIS systems in general although they use Arc software primarily for examples. Overall a useful book that is not too expensive.

Leah Bendavid-Val

National Geographic: The Photographs
As a "learning" photographer, I find it helpful to study those who do this professionally. This is a most excellent book and just great as a table book. My dream is to work with National Geographic one day.

National Geographic Guide to the National Parks of the United States, 6th Edition15 reviews

National Parks Book
This National Park book is great. It explains about the parks and gives suggestions on activities while you are visiting the parks. It doesn't matter if you can't take the long hikes, it gives suggestions for the non-hikers also. It also gives accomadations near or in the park. We are really enjoying the book and it is helping us plan our vacations.

National Geographic Atlas of the World, Eighth Edition26 reviews
National Geographic

National Geographic, 2004

Incredible Family Resource
I've had the new atlas for 60 days and find myself looking something up every 2-3 days. It's really been fun looking up remote places like Palmyra Atoll, Kerguelen Island, the Fly River and other obscure places I read about. And now I've found an interesting use for the password protected online atlas as well. The online Atlas gives you high-resolution access to all the Atlas map plates. You ...

National Geographic Readers: Storms!3 reviews
Miriam Goin

National Geographic Children's Books, 2009

This is an excellent look at weather and the forces of nature for the beginning reader!
Everywhere on earth we have "weather," but what kind of weather we have depends on the area in which we live. For example, in India they have only two seasons. During the winter it is very dry, but the "Summer monsoons bring LOTS of rain." We need rain in order for our crops to grow, but if there is too much it can also devastate them. Around the world we experience hailstorms, tornados, ...

The construction quality of the book is outstanding. Paper and covers of ...
