For some reason, I did not have high expectations for this book. Perhaps because the original is such a favorite with my kids and it was done so well. The sequel always seems to let you down, right? Although this is a relatively short and easy-to-read book, it makes a real lasting impression. The rhyming text is cleverly done and fires up the young imagination and the ending is very satisfying. We bought the book for our grandchildren who absolutely love it - so much so that they now teasingly call their grandfather the Gruffalo!
