A must have book if you are involved with social services or children in the system
I have purchased over a dozen copies of this book. I literally give them away to people. Ashley Rhodes-Courter is a success story. Unfortunately not all kids in foster care get to have a success story. Ashley aptly shows the reality of living in foster care in an engaging and spellbinding way. I have adopted 3 children out of foster care, 2 of them older child special needs adoptions with ...

Sixth in Riley Jenson, Guardian, series
Riley Jenson is an unusual character. She's part-wolf, part-vampire, working (initially against her will but perhaps not so now) as a Guardian, an enforcer for law in the supernatural world. She lives with her twin brother Rhoan and is still trying to come to terms with the fact her lover Kellen walked away from her some months before. It probably helps to have read the previous books in this ...

Two of the dogs were mother and son--the mother in advanced senility and other health issues and her son was completely paralyzed with hip displasia. Louie, the youngest, was dying with cancer. They came together as rescues and were close friends for many years. Thank you, Christine Davis, for this ...

Lots of tension and suspense, this novel is witty and fun!
Continuing from When Darkness Comes, Shay is returned to Evor, her troll `owner', once the witches are dead. It is a curse that has attached her to Evor ~ should one perish, so will the other. On the auction block, feeling degraded and used, one voice calls out a large sum, `buying' her on the spot. Viper. It has been months since they've seen each other, but Viper was never able to get Shay ...

Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lots of action. I like these weird blue owls from the middle kingdom because it introduces weirdness. Also, I like the idea of The Striga (Blue owl from the middle kingdom; member of the dragon court who were formerly hagsfiends) somehow being completely opposite to "vanity" and thinks there should be none of it. (I don't like the idea)

Gahoole Series
My youngest Daughter initially purchased Book 1 of this series from a book order form from school. Once she had read it, I happened to look at it and started reading the story as it seemed interesting. We both became "hooked" to the story. I came on line to AMAZON & found out it was a series with 3 more books already released. I immediately ordered the the books. Once they arrived we both ...

The Excitement Continues!
The storyline in Book Six, The Burning, is exciting from the very beginning. The plot climaxes with an ending that is sure to please any fan of the series. When I finished the book, I felt that the series could have ended with Book Six as the final installment.

An Amazing Read
I read this book, and it was fantastic! The Golden Tree is perhaps one of Mrs. Lasky's best books in the entire Guardians of Ga'Hoole series. The Band finally makes a comeback, and Coryn is getting used to being King. Soren's chicks also hatch, though I was disappointed there wasn't much about them in The Golden Tree. Coryn and the Band go on a journey to discover whether Nyra is really a ...
