One of the best books I have read
I am not a usual fantasy or sci-fi reader, but a friend convinced me to read The Star of the Guardians series. In fact, the only fantasy I had read before this were The Lord of the Rings. I became addicted to The Star of the Guardians as soon as I picked them up! King's Sacrifice stuck out in my mind as the best one in the series though (I cried more than I did in Gone With the Wind and The ...

Top-Notch Fantasy
If you enjoy Fantasy, you will love both the Belgariad and the Mallorian. I've read them so many times, I've lost count. So have both my kids. What makes Eddings' books so good is his ability to bring his characters to life. They become more than just fictional constructs - in fact, they become friends.

Keeps the Series Intense
In this novel, the struggle for power continues between Maigrey, Derek Sagan, and Dion Starfire. However, a new, deadly opponent comes to the surface. The new opponent is going to try to tear apart the Guardians and Dion. However, Maigrey and Sagan have a few tricks up their sleeves! This novel continues right where the first one ended. It is fast paced and highly enjoyable.

When life isn't fair - read this book.
Karen Hancock has continued her excellent "Legends of the Guardian-King" series with this 2nd book in the series. Her characters are fully formed. They have real problems, real joys, real misgivings about why things happen. Through out the book we see the main character dealing with the "how" and "why" questions about the events in his life. Is God there? Does He really care? Is life just a ...

Book One of the Greatest Trilogy I've Ever Read!
Derek Sagan, Dion Starfire, and Maigrey Morianna are three of a group of compelling characters in this incredible tale. As I always say on panels at Science Fiction conventions, this is the greatest story I've ever read. Set in a different time and place, the Guardians, an elite group of royal servants, protect a young king while he matures to assume the role he was always destined to fulfill. ...

A Page Turner
I really enjoyed these first couple of chapters of THE JYNX. I found the story compelling from the start - the writer really takes you into the chosen life of the main character, Billy. The "tease" of the first few pages has me hooked; I'd like to know what becomes of Billy.

Great little book, but order from author's website!
I'm writing this review because I'm flabbergasted at the prices the "used/new" vendors are asking for this book. $[...] + shipping?!!!! If you order it from the author's website [...] it is only $[...] plus shipping! It's a great little book with chapters on "Who I Am In Christ," "Health and Healing," "Praise and Worship" (When did you ever see a chapter on praise & worship in a book of ...

NICE EDITION: SAVE SOME SHELF SPACE
This is of course a combination of the first three books which make up "The Melloreon," which is the continuation of the five books that made up "The Belgariad." In this one volume you get Gardians fo the West, King of the Murgos and Demon Lord of Karanda. This is actually a pretty good deal as it does save some space. On the other hand, the print in this edition is smaller than normal and if ...

GUARDIANS OF GAHOOLE
I BOUGHT THE BOOKS BY KATHRYN LASKY FOR MY FOURTEEN YEAR OLD GRANDAUGHTER. THE FIRST ONE WAS ON HER BOOK LIST FOR SUMMER READING. AS SOON AS SHE BEGAN TO READ IT SHE ASKED IF THERE WERE MORE BY THE SAME AUTHOR. AFTER I FOUND ALL THE OTHER BOOKS IN THE SERIES I ORDERED ALL OF THEM FOR HER CHRISTMAS PRESENT THAT YEAR. SHE SHARES THEM WITH HER COUSINS BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS. THE STORIES ARE ...

A spectacular Christian Fantasy/Allegory
Karen Hancock is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. The Light of Eidon is anything but your everyday fantasy series. Filled with plot lines that keep you guessing, you will be up many late nights finishing this book. Karen has managed to create a world and characters that are so real. From ancient cities to magical landscapes, not to mention the great illusions in the gladiators ...

The Nez Percé people lived in peace with white intruders in their homelands from the time of Lewis & Clark until 1863 when a treaty called for the tribe?s removal to a reservation in Idaho. Chief Joseph (1840-1904), headman of the Nez Percé band in northeastern Oregon's Wallowa Valley, became the greatest diplomat, philosopher, and?from necessity rather than choice?war leader of his people and among the most respected Indian leaders of American ...

An action packed read with spiritual overtones
Everything an action sci-fi fan could ask for: Full of battle scenes packed with blazing swords and "ray" guns. From the opening scene I was captivated. Woven into the action are moral dilemmas and tragedy, coupled with a unique perspective on the battle between good and evil. An excellent read.

Finale not to be missed
Karen Hancock's final book is spellbinding and a fitting end to this wonderful fantasy/allegorical series. The faith and love of Abramm, Maddie and Trap are tested more than ever before and their responses are genuine and heartfelt. The reader has little difficulty imagining the land, the people and the intricate politics of the warring countries as Karen's writing is of the highest calibre. The ...

Be very careful...
The guys at ScrollQuest have become very unresponsive to customers who have won prizes in their hunts. They are also having trouble delivering ordered scrolls. They had a very good relationship with the moderators at Tweleve dot org (an armchair treasure hunt community), but have since fallen into the 'not recommended' category because of their failure to pay out prizes and/or communicate ...

Wow!
This is one of the books by Karen Hancock in a four part series. I didn't think it could get any better after the other one but I was wrong. I couldn't seem to put this book down.
