How people become addicted; how they recover.
This book, based upon the Prochaska and Norcross model of "stages of change" is a vital resource for the chemical dependency/abuse counselor, or anyone else who works with this population. The authors clearly delineate how a person becomes addicted (using the stages of change model- except in reverse), then moving on to the process of recovery. Contrary to an earlier review, I did not ...

Babit's Guilford
I have read this book twice and find it to be extremely thorough in its presentation of the circumstances around the battle as well as the battle itself. Dr. Babits has obviously, along with Josh Howard done a very extensive amount of research of files, records and information that heretofore had either been ignored or not discussed for whatever reason. They have dispelled numerous myths and ...

Like a Novel
This book is so good that one cannot put it down. The first chapter is the best description of the Charleston "attitude" I've read and I come from that background. It puts the characters( Nathanael Greene, Banastre Tarleton, Moultrie, Marion, etc. in a light balanced by the facts, rather than lauding or criticizing one by himself.

An absolute necessity for all school psychology students.
This is a well organized, clearly written text that takes the reader step by step through the DSM-IV process. It presents a strong rationale for the use of the DSM-IV in schools and points to the importance of developing a clinical perspective within the field of school psychology. This is a wonderful text. It should be required for all school psychology students.

Solid school behavior plan!
This book appears to be a complete package for developing research-based behavioral interventions in an elementary or middle school. It uses familiar elements, like a behavioral goal sheet and award tickets, but it adds the check-in/check-out procedure for starting and ending the child's day. It also has a parent component, requiring the parent to sign and return the behavior report card ...

Decent but Weakened by Exaggerations & Omissions
According to Angus Konstam, author of Osprey's Campaign Series volume 109, the Battle of Guilford Courthouse in 1781, "marked a turning point in the war [the American Revolution]." Konstam has written an interesting and detailed account of the clash of American General Greene's army with British General Cornwallis' army near an obscure North Carolina courthouse in March 1781. Konstam's account ...
