Instructive and Inspirational
After reading several books on bookbinding, this is one of my favorites that I find myself going back to again and again for both instruction and inspiration. On the craft of bookbinding, the instructions are clear and there are a number of interesting structures to explore. This book also moves into the realm of book artist, with the author explaining how she uses her experiences to develop ...

A Wonderful Companion
I just received my book a few days ago and have already torn through it. It has a great balance of informative backgrounds about the artists involved with the companion documentary, soon to be released, and amazing visuals of the artists' work. I also really enjoyed the essays added throughout. I was especially excited to see one by Betsy Greer. I feel I have some knowledge about the artists' ...

Step by Step to the Perfect Card
This is great for ideas on handmaking cards. I love the idea of something so simple handmade, but the authors have a step by step guide to how to make all kinds of cards. The templates are even included! It has all the sketchings, diagrams, and measurements for the perfect card. The best part about it is, when you have your card, you can't believe you actually made something so beautiful!! I ...

Best money I have spent on a book
I LOVED this book. I loved the fact that it is full of fantastic pictures of art dolls- not just traditional dolls. I loved the fact it has assemblage pieces, clay, polymer and wood- not just cloth. I have had it for over a month now and am still finding new and interesting pictures to look at. It's not a how to book-it's a wow! look at that! book.

A favorite gem of mine
It was in the 1970's when I first encountered this book and the memory has stayed with me since then. Had actually forgotten the correct title in my quest to obtain a used copy of the book. Then someone on a Yahoo group I am on told me the correct title and I quickly found a used copy here on Amazon.com and I am so very, very happy. The interesting thing about the book now thirty years old, ...

Worth not only the money, but the time
I have purchased other similar books in the past that I skim, but never really take time to read. This book was not only worth the money, it was worth the time. Concisely written, clearly categorized, useful information. I only wish I had read it seven years ago when I first started selling my jewelry, as some of the lessons I have learned a much harder way! My little company is currently ...

Everything you ever wanted to know about hand printing.
This book turned out to be even more helpful and inspiring than I had hoped for. It answered many questions relating to different varieties of simple hand printing techniques such as: which inks, papers, and fabrics are best suited for each project; how to create stencils; how to transfer designs, how to repeat a pattern, how to work with screens, and on and on. There are many color photos ...

The Search for Simplicity
I didn't go looking for this book. It simply fell into place. Literally. While I was browsing in the satellite branch of my local public library for books about business this volume fell on my head. It had been left precariously on top of the shelf. Aesthetics appeal to me, to the cover was intriguing. I skipped the book about where mobile and wireless technology is taking society and immediately ...

Rediscovers the simple facts of electronic music
Ever since products such as GarageBand took over the low-level tasks of producing electronic music and turned us all into application users, much has been forgotten about making music with low-level electronic components. In the case of younger electronic musicians, this may be an art form they never even knew in the first place. Although there is an advantage is computer musicians speaking a ...

Excellent Book
I am a beginner in cardmaking and found this book very useful. However the book is not aimed entirely at the beginners. Anyone can draw inspiration from it. The cards are very beautiful and relatively easy to make. There are lots of useful information about the tools, basic techniques, choosing the right color, even selling your cards, personal trademark, which I liked very much.

Very nice
I ordered this book on a whim and really like it (though I haven't made any of the projects yet). It's a blend of historical quilts that the author has figured out patterns for and new quilts. There's also a large range of techniques used, so there's something here for everyone. The book is very inspiring and I would recommend it to anyone interested in hand-stitching or quilting.

A work of art
The beautiful illustrations - simple yet exquisite, worthy of framing. I first framed some of the pictures and presented them as gifts to some young deaf children with self esteem problems, but it was when I taught hearing adults and did the same thing that I really saw the great impact her illustrations had. It then became a "work of art"
