The Enchanted Dolls' House10 reviews
Robyn Johnson

Handprint, 2006

A wonderful future heirloom
This is a beautifully detailed pop-up with lots of interesting facts and pictures. It would make a great gift for a daughter or granddaughter who loved dolls and dollhouses. The details are amazing.

The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere12 reviews
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Handprint, 2001

What a treasure!
You know this book is special as soon as you touch it. You realize that the look of leather on the cover is just that, a look. You flip through the pages and find a scrapbook, complete with worn and mildewed pages, enhanced with token mementos that look so three-dimensional you must trace them with a tentative finger. A letter from Thomas Gage to Lieutenant Colonel Smith is tucked inside the ...

No More Handprints5 reviews
Michael Hetzer

Webster Henrietta Publishing, 2003

Functions as a parental keepsake
No More Handprints: Your Child's Handprint Completes The Story is an original children's picturebook that also functions as a parental keepsake. It comes with two specially formulated ink strips that a child can use to make his or her own handprints and complete the story, about a mother who is frustrated with her child's tendency to leave handprints all over the walls... so she collects his ...

wow
How wonderful it was to read this book to my 4 year old, and for them to fall asleep smiling. What a sweet story. The pictures were beautiful.

Tumble Me Tumbily9 reviews
Karen Baicker

Handprint Books, 2002

Best baby book ever
This is by far the best baby book EVER. My kids love the rhymes. I read it over and over again. This should go in every baby gift like Goodnight Moon so often does.

I Can Do It Too!4 reviews
Karen Baicker

Handprint Books, 2003

A wonderful book for a toddler
A very simple but age-appropriate story for a two-year-old: in a series of incidents, the toddler narrator observes something that father or mother or uncle or older neighbor can do, and then asserts "I can do it too!" The lively and brightly colored illustrations confirm that she can, though not always in the same way. A great book to share with a child who wants to do things him or herself. ...

Casey at the Bat: A Ballad of the Republic Sung in the Year 1888 (Caldecott Honor Book)22 reviews
Ernest L. Thayer

Handprint Books, 2000

WHAT A WONDEFUL, WELL DONE WORK!
What a wonderful rendition of one of my favorite (and many others) poems! Not only do I like this book my self (I actually own the thing), but I have found it to be very useful in school and in teaching young grandsons. The author has taken the classic poem of Casey at the Bat and turned it into a piece of art and a history lesson all in one. He has used old newspaper clippings of the late ...

Calendar Kids: Handprint Quilts Through the Year4 reviews
Marcia L. Layton

That Patchwork Place, 2007

Memory quilts for young and old alike
I remember making "hand turkeys" as a craft project in Kindergarten. I was so proud to bring it home to Mom. Now you can go back to your childhood with Marcia Layton's book "Calendar Kids". With a little bit of paint, some fabric and a small child, you can make wonderful quilts. Aww heck - why not a big child??? Use your own handprints! Either way, this book gives you ideas for quilts to ...

Food Fight!14 reviews
Carol Diggory Shields

Handprint Books, 2002

Just as much fun for parents!
I first took this book to my 3-year-old son's preschool class to read to all the little kiddos when they were studying food groups. Now, my 3-year-old son loves this book because of the personalities of the various foods and the rhythm of the storytelling. He can recite it almost from memory. He loves it so much that lines from the book sometimes become punch lines in our day-to-day ...

Really Raoulino14 reviews
Dina Fischbein

Handprint Books, 2006

Both of my kids have read this twice
Both of my kids (boy 8, girl 11) have read this book twice in the few weeks that we have had it. They just loved it that much. My son is softhearted and found it sad enough for tears at one point, but still insists that it is a great book.

A Day at the Market3 reviews
Sara Anderson

Handprint, 2006

Most wonderful book
We received this book as a gift, and I am purchasing it on Amazon as a gift for another friend. It is one of the most beautiful books I have seen - both visually and literally. The illustrations are stunning - vibrant colors, slightly abstract nature, she even shows all races and ages when painting people - lovely! The rhyming text is wonderful - not your run-of-the-mill children's rhymes, but ...

You'll Think About This Long After Putting it Down!
Eighth-grader Grant is a loving child whose affection for his dignified grandfather would never be questioned. In fact, when his grandfather suffers a stroke and is sent to "The Other Wing" of the nursing home, Grant is the only one in the family who makes the time to visit him; his mother and father are both so wrapped up in their careers that they find neglecting both Grant and the grandfather ...

Bless This Mouse: A Soft-to-Touch Book (Soft-To-Touch Book)3 reviews
Dianna Hutts Aston

Handprint Books, 2004

My 13 month old LOVES this book!
Our son got this book for his birthday and he adores it! He brings the book to us saying "Mouse Mamma/Daddy! Mouse!" There's some good rhyming in it and the soft feel is great for toddlers. The pages are also thicker than most paperbacks and not as easy to tear. I highly recommend this book for your toddler.

There Come a Soldier3 reviews
Peggy Mercer

Handprint Books, 2007

A different view of war..
This is a heart-warming story that provides insight with regard to how life's early experiences shape how one handles later experiences. The author skillfully uses flashbacks to demonstrate this connection and at the same time presents a sensitive view of war from the perspective of the ordinary soldier faced with survival and choice.

Pea Pod Babies3 reviews
Karen Baicker

Handprint Books, 2003

Perfect book for a mom with triplets!
This is a very sweet book. I bought it for my GBG triplets. My triplets have very different personalities and like the Pea Pod Babies have many of their own unique adventures. My kids love this book and so do I!

Fire Fighter Piggywiggy3 reviews
Diane Fox, Christyan Fox

Handprint Books, 2001

Awesome Piggy Wiggy
This is my 3 1/2 yr olds new favorite book. We read it EVERY night. It's an easy read, not too long & the pictures allow you to make up a little bit more to the story than what's actually written. This is a must for little boys!

Ten Cows to Texas4 reviews
Peggy Mercer

Handprint Books, 2005

One written for kids instead of critics
This is a great book for children written by an educator who understands the minds of children in the age group for whom the book was written. I have watched children read this book and also watched those too young to read "see" a story through the excellent pictures. As a retired professional educator who spent many years trying to deal with children who were reluctant to read, I guarantee ...

One of the most creative innovative children's books on the market today. The illustrations and the concept story is good for both kids and adults.

The Song of Hiawatha4 reviews
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Handprint Books, 2003

This is a great campfire book that really makes you think.
"The Song of Hiawatha" is the best book I have ever been exposed to. Every time I hear the wonderful rhyme of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, I begin to think of what this land was like before the Europeans conquered it. It is a wonderful tale of peace between nations and a great book to read to children.
