Must Read!
I thought I was a pretty good rider, 29 years of experience riding all kinds of bikes - but had never taken an advanced rider class. While reading this book, I quickly realized how many mistakes I had been making. E.g., over the years I had figured out most of the steps involved with making a turn as described in the book, but I did not have ALL the steps figured out - there were some CRUCIAL ...

Knocked this one out in a single flight. Well written, easy to follow. Maybe a little too easy. Would have liked a little more meat. Consider this the Cliff's Notes to Differentiate or Die. Both great books, this is easier to digest. Neumeier is a brand genius, he gets it and he can present it well in a concise format.

How to form high-performance teams
What's nice about Jon R. Katzenbach and Douglas K. Smith's book is their willingness to name the truth. They know that everyone pays lip service to teams, but few people act like they truly value teams - and fewer still actually know how teams really work. The authors point out where the hype lies and what it is hiding. Then they go a step farther. They provide a manual for creating what ...

Essential Reading
"I am certain this will become a classic. It is central message is important, new, crystal clear, compelling and I think inspiring. It is a mature and forceful book. The key points are driven home by understandable examples (which are sometimes themselves a wake up call e.g. the reference to "side letters" as "red flags" in financial deals). The recommendations are practical and actionable. ...

Optimizing the front-end experience
When conversation turns to performance, we often focus on the database, application servers, or a multitude of other backend processes, and completely forget about the front-end: CSS, JavaScript, filesizes, conditional requests, and request pipelining. In this book, Steve Souders documents the best practices for optimizing your front-end experience, which can often yield significant improvements ...

Excellent if you need a refresher course in geometry
I found myself needing to review geometry for the SAT and needed a succinct, clear, and accurate guide. This outline has more than exceeded my expectations. By the time I worked through most of the problems in this book, my geometry skills had doubled and the SAT geometry was relatively easy. I highly reccomend this book as either a refresher guide or as a textbook.

making russian easier
I had purchased this gramma book for myself over a year ago. Found explanations and exercises strengthened by Russian skills. Only let down being there was not a dictionary in the back of the text for the words used throughout. Nevertheless this is a very useful text to have and therefore purchased an identical copy for a very dear friend who is doing Russian.

Very good reading
I can highly recommend this book. It is written in such a way that you will enjoy learning about the subject at hand. It is not overly complicated at all and has helped me understand a lot of things that I `thought' I already knew. The second half of the book is dedicated to an in depth look at what different companies have on offer ECU wise and the pro and cons of each one. This is all done in ...

Not a recipe, but a collection of ideas
This review is supposed to tell the potential reader what to expect from this book, based on the confession that I highly recommend reading this book. This book is NOT A RECIPE. If you look for a "recipe" as to how to become a high performance manager, I would recommend Stephen Covey's classic on the 7 habits of highly effective people.
