Illustrated Essentials of Musculoskeletal Anatomy8 reviews
Kay W Sieg, Sandra P. Adams

Megabooks, Inc., 2002

Very helpful anatomy guide
As a massage therapy student, i found this book to be a great help in studying anatomy. A page is devoted to each bone/muscle, making for clear, large drawings with brief but direct text on bony landmarks and origin/insertion/action of the muscles, plus miscellaneous information. The book also classifies muscles by movement at the joints, to simplify studying by joint action. All in all, a great ...

BRS Cell Biology and Histology (Board Review Series)10 reviews
Leslie P Gartner, James L Hiatt, ...

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2006

Better than Kaplan's review for Histology.
A must have. Really important and understandable facts in the light of USMLE. I'm reading some other books on this subject too, and I have inferred that this one is very good.

Neuroanatomy: An Atlas of Structures, Sections, and Systems (Point (Lippincott Williams & Wilkins))11 reviews
Duane E Haines

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2007

Neuroanatomy a big deal for USMLE step 1
It is a well done book for preparing USMLE step 1. In addition, there are questions like the USMLE test that can help the student to pass it. I also recommend it for neurologists and neuroradiologists, because there are a lot of CT and MRI scans!

Wheater's Functional Histology: A Text and Colour Atlas, 5th Edition21 reviews
Barbara Young, James S. Lowe, ...

Churchill Livingstone, 2006

excellent atlas
If you're taking a histo course, this is a fabulous atlas. Everyone at my school buys it, it has clearly labelled photographs of slides as well as very neat diagrams explaining how certain things work. Includes electron micrographs of cells for which EM's are helpful. Very very good book, I highly recommend it, it helps alot.

Color Atlas of Histology8 reviews
Leslie P Gartner, James L Hiatt

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2005

A very good review book for a medical student
I found the book nicely edited, the illustrations were priceless and contained lots of information. The theoretical content of the book though cannot be compared with Ross, this is why it can be used only as a review book. The main quality of the book is in its illustrations and images, which are truly excellent.

Dog Anatomy: A Coloring Atlas7 reviews
Robert A. Kainer, Thomas O. McCracken

Teton New Media, 2002

A Colouring Atlas of Dog Anatomy
I am extremely happy with the purchase of this particular book. As a student of Animal Bowen Therapy, I require information that is explanatory and easy to understand. This book is all of that and more. The pictures are simple and it is very easy to see the different aspects of the anatomy of a dog. I received the book in wonderful timing and as always, found the transaction to be easy and ...

Histology: A Text and Atlas: With Correlated Cell and Molecular Biology (Histology (Ross))6 reviews
Michael H Ross, Wojciech Pawlina

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2006

The best Histology book that I've found.
This Histology book is the most thorough and well-written text out there. If you have no background in Histology, this book can be quite intimidating because it is content-rich. I was very overwhelmed when I first started with this book for undergrad, but now that I have gotten through it and read other titles for med school, I believe that this book is the best. It teaches Histology in a way ...

Basic Histology: Text & Atlas (Basic Histology)24 reviews
Luiz Carlos Junqueira, Jose Carneiro

McGraw-Hill Medical, 2005

The Best BASIC Histology book
For sure this is the best BASIC Histology book ever...if you do want some deep treatment about the topic, go search another book...but for what it intends to discuss (the basic concepts of human body tissues science), the book is explendid. Please, DO NOT compare this book with a non basic book.

Abraham Kierszenbaum

Mosby, 2006

Excellent textbook for histology students
I would recommend this book for anyone taking histology in medical school or undergrad. I am a med student and found this book much easier to learn from compared to other textbooks I have read. Excellent book to start your medical career
I'm a 2nd year medical student as of April 2006. This book helped me a lot to put the whole picture togather. I even refer back to this book when reviewing for pathology. The book title says it all...Histology pictures with functional correlations. All the body organ system presented with very good slide view pictures, which are all labeled + text explaining the labels and functional ...

Histology for Pathologists4 reviews

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2006

Customer review
This book is actually (for those of you who haven't worked it out) the latest edition of that wonderful book first edited by Sternberg, entitled "Histology for Pathologists". It is an excellent reference book and I consider it to be essential reading for all trainee tissue pathologists. It is well set out and written in a fluid style. If you are thinking of buying it, just jump in and do it. You ...

High-Yield? Neuroanatomy: Speech-Language-Hearing (High-Yield? Series)16 reviews
James D Fix

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2004

Get it for Step I 'cause First Aid doesn't cut it
First Aid is money for most subjects, but it's weak on neuro. This book is a very good balance between too little and too much for this overwhelming subject. The High Yield series keeps improving in quality, and in the newest edition is even better at showing clinical scenarios and integrating other subjects like pathology or physiology (I used an older version and it's still pretty good, ...

William K. Ovalle, Patrick C. Nahirney

Saunders, 2007

Great review tool
I really like to use flash cards as a break when I have studies out of the textbook a lot. These are a nice way to test your knowledge. Just dont spend your time trying to learn everything off of these.

Histotechnology: A Self-Instructional Text4 reviews

Freida Carson Histology review
I think this is one of the best instructional histology books I have seen. It gives a solid background of the information needed to certify with the board of registry and allows a individual to learn on there own while working in the histo laboratory. This book has helped me to grasp all basis in the subject while keeping it interesting and not dull. I strongly suggest this book along with the ...
