Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity32 reviews
Mo Willems

Hyperion Book CH, 2007

We read this every night!
My 2.5 year old daughter received this book as a gift and we have never read the first one. The story is wonderful, funny and cute and the illustrations are a very creative mix with real photography. My daughter has this book memorized now and reads it to me which is priceless. I'm getting her the first one for her 3rd birthday and I'm sure it will be a great addition to our home library.

Dreamland (reissue)176 reviews
Sarah Dessen

Puffin, 2004

Slow starter, but amazing finish
This book was difficult for me to keep reading at first. It seemed a bit boring, but I kept reading, knowing that anything by Sarah Dessen coudln't be that bad. It took me a few weeks to get past the slow part, but once I did, I couldn't put it down. Her struggle and pain are an emotional rollercoaster as you follow the main character through the problems. It was a touching story and highly ...

The Bourne Identity (Bourne Trilogy, Book 1)292 reviews
Robert Ludlum

Bantam, 1984

Wow - blows the movie right out of the water!
I first read this book 4 years before the movies started coming out, and it blew me out of the water. Wow. I read spy/action books all the time, and this was amazing. James Bond is the classy blue-blooded spy - he wouldn't stand a chance going through what Bourne did in these books. Please buy it. And forget what you saw in the movie!

Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia1740 reviews
Elizabeth Gilbert

Penguin (Non-Classics), 2007

Loved it!
I thought "Eat, Pray, Love" was a beautifully written 3-tales-in-1. From the physical to the spiritual to an openness and flowing with life. I really enjoyed it. I could relate with the author. It was like listening to a good friend.

Birth Order Book, The: Why You Are the Way You Are35 reviews
Dr. Kevin, Leman

Revell, 2004

Very Insightful Information
Kevin Leman is an excellent author and this book is proof of that. It helps you make so much sense of not just yourself but all those around you. Also, there were many concepts he shared that I had never even thought of in birth order. Overall, it is a great book and I highly recommend it!

Stuff White People Like: A Definitive Guide to the Unique Taste of Millions59 reviews
Christian Lander

Random House Trade Paperbacks, 2008

Very good snapshot in time
This book is incredibly funny and accurate. Perhaps more accurately titled "What Barack Obama's Base Likes", it cuts to the quick of me and my friends who, once upon a time, also thought we were profound for seeking out independent films (until I began to realize how much most of them suck). I even thought I had a leg up with loving Hayao Myazacki films. My only concern with it is that the ...

How to Be Invisible: The Essential Guide to Protecting Your Personal Privacy, Your Assets, and Your Life ...55 reviews
J.J. Luna

Thomas Dunne Books, 2004

A must read for everyone
I read the silliness written by "Miss Deplume" and shook my head. It is wrong and ignorant at best and I hope the thinking person will see this shoddy review is FAR outweighed by the postive comments. We review our book regularly and are slowly instituting measures that provide us with more security. And let's face it---in this day in age there is one person and one alone who is watching out ...

Self-Esteem: A Proven Program of Cognitive Techniques for Assessing, Improving, and Maintaining Your ...28 reviews
Matthew McKay, Patrick Fanning

New Harbinger Publications, 2000

Read Self-Esteem- It's Worth It
Who's the book for? Anyone who wants to improve their self-esteem. What's the goal of the book? To improve your self-esteem. How does it do this? By showing you how to disarm your "inner critic", you know, that negative inner voice that attacks and judges you. Everyone has one, and people with low self-esteem tend to have a more vicious inner critic. Is it easy to read? Yes, the book ...

Mistaken Identity: Two Families, One Survivor, Unwavering Hope131 reviews

A Great Read
This book was one that I could not put down. Even though I knew the outcome, it was still inspiring to read.

The Case for the Real Jesus: A Journalist Investigates Current Attacks on the Identity of Christ71 reviews
Lee Strobel

Zondervan, 2007

Jesus--He's the Real Thing! And what a case!
Lee Strobel's profile of Jesus Christ is divided into three parts, the historical, the Freudian, and the fantastic-- 1. Examining the Record; 2. Analyzing Jesus; and 3. Researching the Resurrection. In "Part 1: Examining the Record," Strobel tells how God came to Earth to become the real Jesus. See if you can follow this, it's tough, even for me. In heaven, during my prehistoric days ...

Middlesex: A Novel856 reviews
Jeffrey Eugenides

Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2002

One of my favorites!
Killer book! Starts with a kind of lengthy backstory in Greece, but I actually liked that part a lot. I recommend this to anyone interested in LGBT, or anyone who just wants an interesting and entertaining read.

I Am a Strange Loop77 reviews
Douglas R. Hofstadter

Basic Books, 2007

I Am A Strange Loop
How real is X to you...the moment you start taking X for granted, then it would seem you would consider X's reality highly dubious. This, a book of analogies and metaphors, presents a plethora of academic notions in a down to earth way, spinning science subjects such as physics, mathematics at the logical level, chemistry, psychology, humanities, and a touch of theology, to describe the human ...

Designing Brand Identity: A Complete Guide to Creating, Building, and Maintaining Strong Brands43 reviews
Alina Wheeler

Wiley, 2006

Very thorough with great examples
I used this book for a graphic design course that I'm taking and it was very informative as well as thorough. It was interesting to read about all of the brand identities and how logos really affect the way a company is viewed. I like the detail, the graphics and the comparisons for the different logos. This helped me in developing a good design for my project.

Wizard Heir, The15 reviews
Cinda Williams Chima

Hyperion, 2007

Better than the 1st
AFter reading the Warrior Heir I was very impressed. Now after finishing The Wizard Heir I'm stunned. This book starts off excellent. It's a page turner. Seph is a very likable main character and Liecaster is the perfect bad guy. The author does a great job of making the reader feel as they are actually a fly on the wall watching this play out. The mystery of who is Seph's real parents is ...

A Cute Book

The Big Sort: Why the Clustering of Like-Minded America Is Tearing Us Apart19 reviews
Bill Bishop

Big Sort
This is a great book. It is the most objective book that discusses the differences between Republicans and Democrats and the conclusions are backed up by a plethora of statistical research.

Airhead29 reviews
Meg Cabot

Point, 2008

I'm speechless.
I'm back. I adored this book. It was amazing. The only problem is that I can't find the SEQUEL! It ends right when things seem to be getting really interesting, and the sequel isn't out?? I am disappointed about the sequel, but I loved the book.
