This was an amazing book
It was so sad that in the end i cried. I know what its like to loose someone close to my heart and it made i easier to relate to this book. The book kept me wanting to know what would happen to April and Mark. It showed me that it's just as hard fo other people to go through hard times.

Well written
This is an amazing book when looking into the insane mind. The political aspect is mainly ignorable but the main function of the writing is very worthwhile.

Wonderful book. Highly recommend for anyone on this journey!
I read this book in 1996, when I was taking care of my father who was dying of lung cancer, which had metastasized everywhere. I am a Registered Nurse, & worked for 20 yrs in Intensive Care units. I took care of patients immediately after open heart surgery & have some trauma experience, so, I knew that death & dying could/would be messy, just like birth. However, most of the time, I was not ...

Well written and full of information
I have purchased the book Faces of Huntington's,read it,and recommended it to friends. This was a book that needed to be written. For the first time I was able to read stories of other people dealing with this disease, like I am. It is a book that is very easy to read. Not all stories are sad , and that was encouraging. You will find ways to handle your problems by reading how others have. I ...

best book
I would give this book five stars. It is one of the best books I've ever read and I could not put it down. The story was captivating and it made you feel like you were another character watching this story unfold. You are so in touch with the characters emotions that certian points in the book don't really hit you until you see how she is hit by it. Over all this is my favorite book and I ...

An Entire Community Destroyed by a Tragic Arson Fire
This is one Chicago tragedy that resonates with me strongly. My former attorney, recently deceased, was a survivor of the deadly fire at Our Lady of Angels Catholic School. Despite our shared interest in history, he never spoke of the fire during the twenty years in which I knew him. Last year, I found a web site maintained by survivors of the fire and questioned him about the inclusion of his ...

God Bless Alex
After supporting Cystic Fibrosis as one of my personal charities for many years, I saw this book in a used book store and bought it. I didn't read it for some time. In fact, it was after I met a family who had a son with CF. I became friends with him - and only a few months later, close to his 21st birthday, he was gone. Then I read the book.. I must say, this is a heartbreaker - but Alex is ...

A Book Everyone Should Read
I truly believe this book should be read by everyone, not just people that are going into the mental health field. I was required to ready it for a Social Work class I am currently taking at the undergraduate level; however, I can say without a doubt it is by far the best book I have ever read! Lachenmeyer really brings home the stigma and heartache that is experienced by people and their loved ...

I'll Always Love You
A book I saw when working at the library and thought, someday, I'll need this book. 11 years later I did. Now, it's on a table in my family room, in honor of my father, Nick and yellow lab, Sammy, who both passed early this year, a few months apart and who were best buds.

At last, an interactive experience of life in big-city law enforcement! In a relentlessly authentic voice, Gina Gallo translates every nuance of the police experience into an unparalled copspeak primer for those who've never worn the badge. review of "Courageous Confrontations"
What is remarkable about "Courageous Confrontations" is the philosophy of hope offered by this dedicated and highly skilled physician. He explains in language easily understood by a layman the medical factors relating to diseases of the heart, and then demonstrates how one's fate is not solely limited to medical factors, how one's will and character can affect the medical outcome of the most ...

"Just Fine": helps transform the emotional pain of concealed chronic conditions with wisdom, resources, and wit!
Like others have written, JUST FINE is a gift to all those impacted by chronic, invisible illnesses and pain. Chronic Fatigue (CFIDS) has been my challenge and teacher since my symptoms began more than 30 years ago. JUST FINE, written beautifully by a therapist surviving her own chronic illnesses, says everything I needed to know THEN when little was known and we were told it was a ...

This book made me remember why I love Chris Crutcher's novels so much. Ben is about to start his senior year in high school, and he has some big plans to get himself ready for college and to have a great cross-country season. Everything changes when he sees his doctor for his annual physical. Ben has a disease that will kill him. It will likely kill him within a year, although he might ...

Christian Fiction, Prayer Life, ordinary women of multiracial backgrounds.
Each book of the Yada Yada series follows the lives of women I would like to know as my friends. I feel involved in their everyday life as well as the big decisions that are part of Christian living in every city. All my friends that are reading this series enjoy the books also. We named our local prayer group The Yadah prayer breakfast.

Sunny and Dawn - A Friendship Detiorating By The Day
Sunny #6 was a good book; it was the book in which the fight between Dawn and Sunny REALLY begins; it showed both sides of Dawn and Sunny's personalities; good and bad. Sunny is a troubled teen dealing with the fact that she may lose her mother to cancer; she has a lot of anger, pain, and sadness to deal with. She, unfortunately, solves her problems by, as Dawn pointed out, running away; and ...
