Forensic Art and Illustration101 reviews

CRC, 2000

Fascinating and invaluable!
Even if you have no sculpting talent whatsoever, this book is an engrossing read and a valuable reference for any crime or mystery writer. Karen Taylor has consulted for such hit TV shows as CSI and BONES and she definitely knows what she's talking about. The text is lucid and engaging and not at all intimidating, while the photos and diagrams alone are worth the price of admission!

The Golden Book of Fairy Tales (Golden Classics)61 reviews

Golden Books, 1999

Childhood Memories
I received this book in 1959 from my Aunt and Uncle when I turned 4. The illustrations are beautiful and seem magical. I was surprised and pleased to see it offered on Amazon. This book started my lifelong love of reading and would STILL make a wonderful gift for young and old!

Bark, George58 reviews

Laura Geringer, 1999

this book outshined the toys on christmas morning
This book was loved by my three nephews (one is 4 and the twins are 2). I was already their favourite aunt but I think I actually moved up a few notches on the scale with this one. On my one week stay with my sister, I read this book to my nephews at least once per day. The four year-old liked it so much that we performed a show with puppets for the whole family based on this book.

Mitch O'connell: Tattoos52 reviews

Last Gasp, 2007

SA-WEEET!
Fantastically original style! It is very rare that you come across an artist with a vision who is not afraid to put it out there. Had to get the book to view the entire collection and it definitely hit the mark. You have to check out the dude's website for additional killer works and goodies too ([...] ). Cheers!

The Code Book The Evolution of Secrecy from Mary Queen of Scots to Quantum Cryptography253 reviews
Simon Singh

Doubleday & Co., 1999

Cryptography 101
As always Simon Singn takes the reader on a fantastic trip through History. Filled with entertaining stories, puzzles and heroic events, the author skillfully covers the history of secret writing. If you liked his coverage of Fermat's Enigma then you will definitely enjoy this book. The prose is capturing, deep enough to fascinate technical readers and light enough to just entertain the casual ...

Yummy Gingerbread
What a wonderful book! The illustrations are breathtakingly georgous and intricately detailed as is typical of all Jan Brett's books. The story of the Gingerbread Baby is a surprising and delightful retelling of the classic story. My children and I loved this book!

The Lord of the Rings Sketchbook30 reviews

Houghton Mifflin, 2005

The Lord of the Rings Sketch Book
The content of this book lent a great deal of inside information that Jackson used to form the characters of all LORD OF THE RINGS movies. I have collected all of the LOTR articles that I could find. This book made an excellant addition to my collection.

It is worth getting Unicorn of Kilimanjaro or the Calendar if you can find them as well. It is on my list of favorite all time books, and i see a lot of them as i work at a bookstore. Incredible Cross-sections of Star Wars, Episode I - The Phantom Menace: The Definitive Guide to the Craft31 reviews
Dorling Kindersley, David West Reynolds

DK Publishing (Dorling Kindersley), 1999

A definate for vehicle lovers!
I always wanted to see more and to be able to look inside of the vehicles more closely, and this book provides that information (and more more) in great detail. I really like the mini illustrations of where in the vehicles that events from the movies took place, it helps to "put a name to a face".

Ed Emberley's Drawing Book of Animals41 reviews

L,B Kids, 1994

Simple and sweet way to teach children to draw
Recently I bought Ed Emberley's Drawing Book of Animals for my five year old daughter who loves art, but wanted more formal training. This book is *perfect*! Everything about it is tailored for children who can draw some shapes and it progresses from simple animals to the lovely, elaborate dragon at the end. My daughter is learning how to draw better shapes (and animals) without getting ...

Gifted Touch38 reviews
Metz

Avon Books, 2001

Awesome!
Rae starts out as a normal teenager and she is living a pretty good life. That is until she starts having thoughts that are not hers. She begins to think that she is going crazy, like her mother did before she died in an insane asylum. Then finally Anthony, a guy she met at one of her support groups, figured out that she had a wonderful and amazing gift. But somebody doesnt like this whole ...

Icon36 reviews

Underwood Books, 2003

The Fantasy Master
When people think of fantasy artwork, they might think first of those Conan and Edgar Rice Burroughs paperback covers, or a berserker warrior on horseback, corpses of foes beneath him and dripping weapon above him. People think of Frazetta first, whether or not they know it's him they're thinking of. He's also done recognizable work for Mad magazine, Little Annie Fanny for Playboy, posters for ...

How to Draw Animals32 reviews
Jack Hamm

Perigee Trade, 1983

Professional artist recommends this book!
This is one of the, if not THE most solid animal book there is. Packed with drawings (as all of Jack Hamm's books are)...very clear. It's the book I'd recommend first for someone who wants to learn to draw animals. I'm a professional working in animation and this is a book that all of my coworkers own.
