Listen to this man
I was diagnosed as HIV+ in 1997. Since then I have been searching for the truth about this dis-ease, just the facts the scientific facts - what is this virus and what is it doing to my body? Mr. Kitzerow presents the facts, all of the facts, regarding HIV/AIDS in chronological order, I know he is not the first, but his simple time line with well cited resources explains the complete epidemic ...

GET PRO-LIFE; ABOLISH THE DEATH PENALTY. READ HERE WHY
One of the greatest recent hidden scandals in the pro-life Roman Catholic Church is not those which hit the headlines every day (and which will immediately hit the comments here) but the fact that on the day in which the visiting Pope Benedict XVI was distracted by Bush's birthday "bread and circus" in the White House Rose Garden, the alleged most Catholic members of the Supreme Court (after all, ...

Greatest book on greatest educational endeavor ever!
As someone who is appalled by the passive learning and hypocricy inherent and unchallenged in our educational system this book was an INSPIRATION to me. I found a copy several years ago at a thrift store in Chicago and among other things the book inspired me to create a radical student action committee at Teachers College Columbia University (oh let's just say they HATED me at TC). This book is ...

A Hard Look In The Mirror
"As We Go Marching" is a three-part examination of fascism in Italy (part 1) and Germany (part 2). Part 3 ties things together with an examination of Franklin D. Roosevelt's so-called "New Deal." The book covers periods from the mid-1800's, the time of the respective unification of Italy and Germany, to mid-WWII. Briefly, neither Mussolini nor Hitler laid the foundations, let alone invented, ...

You think you know about the evils of plea bargaining?
Do you? Is that what you think? It's difficult to indict an entire system. And, once you read this rare gem, you'll understand how difficult it is to bring about change to the criminal law system. Nothing has changed about our criminal justice system in the past 20 years, but the inequities remain. What's the worst crime humans commit? The truth that Mr. Orloski points out is that it's ...

Relentless and Powerful
Critics might say that this book is not just about U.S. public schools, or even primarily about U.S. public schools. I think that's true. I think this book is primarily about what it means to live a moral and conscientous life. The political right has written a lot of books about the "death of moral outrage." This book is an answer from the political left, and about as powerful an answer as ...

An interesting and thought provoking account
In this far reaching commentary the reader is presented with a vast array of problems in history concentrating around Jewish and Israeli topics. There are at least four themes included in these short illustrations and insights. Firstly the true nature of the Holocaust and Anti-Semitism. This is brought to light in such essays on the Church's responsibility and apology to Jews. Furthermore the ...

An Account of the Truth Uncovered
This book is written from the perspective of someone who has worked in the medical community; someone whose life was touched by cancer and who was a victim of the medical community and the bureaucracy behind it. It is an enlightening view of just what is happening in the medical community and why your doctor may not and probably does not, have your best interest at heart! It uncovers the greed ...

A Great Find!!!
I bought this book on high recommendations from mystery booksellers and found it one of the most captivating books I've ever read. Ms. Woodward possesses a writing style that is both fluid and efficient. Not a word goes wasted here. Going back and forth in perspectives from that of the victims' family member and the memoirs of the alleged murderer, the story peels away the fabric of an ldyllic ...

Air Safety- The Truth Finally Comes Out
The author of the book SAFETY LAST is to be commended for exposing the airline industry for its true state and the gross incompetency of the FAA that, though charged with the safety of the travelling public is little more than a cesspool of corruption, incompetency, conflict of interest. Captain Power Waters points out how the FAA is charged with both safety and promotion of aviation, clearly a ...

Title of Chapter 1 ?
The original (Agora 1944 pub) had chapter 1 as Why Do We Not Bomb Rome? As Wells wrote it. In all of the other publications I noted that Chapter 1 was relocated as the last chapter 23. This changes the overall impression of the book as Wells originally wrote it. The first time reader should read the Agora version first to get the authors real meaning. Wells was never shy and NEVER did he beat ...

Evidence no "Golden Age" of public schooling in Canada, either
Hilda Neatby's "So Little for the Mind" was published in 1953 as a major indictment of the Canadian "public education" system. Like all serious attacks on the establishment schooling system in yesteryear and today, it was met by derision from the "professionals." She writes,"[M]any who read the book, including many professional educators, found the indictment not only basically unjust but ...

A Refreshing Observation on the War On Drugs
Judge Gray offers an impressive argument against Drug Prohibition. As a conservative Republican judge and prosecutor with decades of experience in law enforcement, he is very qualified to present this striking case against our current policy. As he says throughout the book, "The treatment is more harmful than the disease." This war on drugs is hurting America more than simple drug use ever would. ...

Gripping, Insightfull, a Masterpice of New Journalism
Porambo's book, written during the late 1960's and early 1970's, provides a comprehensive account of the social strife of Newark: before, during, and after words. Porambo gives the lions share of his attention to the marginalized black population of the city, offering vivid(at times painful to read) accounts of the squalor and brutality the were forced to endure. While he gives ample attention to ...

Sorry, I got emotionally involved!
This was a well told story with a complex plot. I found myself rooting for Sheridan and then for his relationship. When that happens, the author has done his job well. I have been entertained and taken out of my daily life - if only for a few brief moments. I enjoyed this book on tape. Full - unabridged version. Recommended.
