WOW!
Granted I haven't yet read the predecessor to this book, Crossing the Chasm, but this is the best business book I have read focusing on the external aspects of business. Most business books focus internally - what you and/or your company needs to do. This book takes the approach that what one does has a dependency on what's going on with the market. The market, as defined in Crossing the ...

Wonderful beginner book!
This is one my son's favorite books. We started reading it to him when he was about six months old. Now, he's two years old and still absolutely loves it - when we read to him and when he "reads" to us. Like all Berenstain's beginning books, this book is a wonderful vocabulary lesson. Our son has clearly expressed his understanding of "inside," "outside," "upside down," etc. for the last ...

A Refreshing Approach to Organizing
Julie Morgenstern's "Organizing from the Inside Out" is such a fantastic and valuable book. Her approach to organizing, as the title suggests, is whatever you are organizing -- your work/family schedule, your office, your kitchen, or your basement -- needs to reflect you: what's important to you, who you are and your value and logic system. I found it so refreshing and exciting how the focus in ...

analyzes the political tactics of terrorism
I found this book to be quite enlightening as well as fascinating to read. Refusing to engage in the political rhetoric surrounding terrorism, the author, Bruce Hoffman, (an expert in counter-terrorism at West Point as well as a professor at Georgetown)follows the evolution of terrorism as a means of calling world attention to forgotten or underpublicized plights of the disenfranchised in order ...

A Truly Superlative Work
After a concise introduction, the authors describe in detail Drive Theory, Structural Theory, Ego Psychology, Psychosocial Ego Development, Object Relations Theory, The Theory of Self Psychology, and the Interpersonal School. This provides a solid foundation for the rest of the book, which moves to a chapter on Race and Culture, then Women. After this, a variety of psychopathologies are ...

Top 5 Leadership Book
In 2006 I completed a Masters degree in leadership studies. This book was one of the texts used in my program. While I have read well over 100 leadership books, Mr Cashman's Leadership from the Inside Out has remained solidly in my top 5. This is a well written book that challenges the reader to dig deep inside themself to discover the leader they are. This book is not for the faint of heart, to ...

Best journalism text ever
I am both a veteran journalist and a veteran college journalism teacher and "Inside Reporting" is the best introductory book ever. Interesting, accurate, visually pleasing and fun to read, it is the new "gold standard" of books with which to teach news writing and reporting. I am adopting it as the required text for the fall semester, and I keep my own copy handy to remind me of what I should be ...

great book, great shape
This is an awesome book, by a no nonsense guy, who has been there and done that. The book came quickly, and for a great price. It was new, and with no marks, and the binding was as if it never had been opened. Thanks for a great book!

An Excellent Book
Parenting from the Inside Out is an easy-to-read book on the neurobiology of parenting. It builds upon the attachment theory of child development and contains useful exercises that are aimed at helping readers identify and work with psychological issues related to parenting. The core theme of this book is that when parents cultivate a strong, healthy relationship with their children, it ...

The subject matter of the book is the impact of the conservative agenda on the Supreme Court. The death of Chief Justice Rehnquist is covered in the Prologue. The Warren Court had transformed the entire legal culture. By 1991 and the appointment of Clarence Thomas the conservatives had made remarkable progress. Thomas is a philosophical heir to Booker T. Washington. Chief Justice ...

Great Developer's intro to Sharepoint
This book is well written. I hit the ground running with this one and can honestly say that it has given me the best overall picture of using WSS as a development platform of any of the books and materials I've looked at. I highly recommend this one for any developer looking to start working in WSS.

If only every company used these princples
I was in the process of introducing some new processes relating to dealing with our cusotmers, so I purchased this book. It is wonderful - and if you want a real treat attend the park after reading it. It will amaze you how this organization goes out of their way to EXCEED the customer's expectations. In the world today, it seems customer service is no longer a priority to some establishments.

As a professional in the ETF business I highly recommend this book. After I read this book I gave it to my son as he recently graduated college and is planning a career on Wall Street-- It's that kind of book. Steven is well connected in the Hedge Fund world and this book is a testament to that. If you buy it to just read Jim Rogers section - your money will be well spent.

excellent book for your collection on Deaf History & Culture
Padden & Humphries, husband & wife, both wrote a wonderful book that is much needed in terms of how Deaf Culture was or what it looked like in the days of the past. To me, "Inside Deaf Culture" is a follow-up from their previous book, "Deaf in America: Voices from a Culture". The difference is the latter is introductory by explaining different aspects of what Deaf culture is. The former ...

Throw out the time management books and replace it with this one. Ms. Morgenstern is easy to read and her book is a great reference to have on hand. The Oak Inside The Acorn by Max Lucado
Letting go of your childhood is hard to do, and a bit scary. In The Oak Inside the Acorn, nature forces Little Acorn to let go of his mother's nurturing branches and begin a life of his own. Little Acorn is not sure what he is suppose to be. He can't bare fruit like the orange trees and he has no beautiful blooms or sweet scents like the flowers. A farmer plants him in the family's back yard, and ...

Well-organized view inside the embassy
One of the strengths of this book is that it relates three facets into the life of a diplomat: the job itself, a day in the life, and "war stories." Of all the career resources I've seen this is the first one that broke a career into this logical structure. The only piece is missing is the all-important family piece, but that is well-covered in the companion book "Realities of Foreign Service ...
