Learn On The Cheap!
I have wanted to get my pilots license since I was 13. I could never get the cash. The Flight Sim Pilot Training on Flight Sim 2004 and Flight Sim X is OK but not great. This book is so incredibly awesome when it comes to how you can use Flight Sim to lean how to fly and the things that you shouldn't. (Let's just say the computer program is a little "optimistic") I have talked to so ...
The Killing Zone: How & Why Pilots Die
22 reviews
Paul A. Craig
McGraw-Hill Professional
, 2000
Important knowledge for any pilot
Craig's research reveals weak spots in the planning and experience of many pilots, describing both intentional and inadvertent actions which commonly lead to accidents. Knowledge is power, but overconfidence can be fatal; nothing makes this more clear than The Killing Zone. Many, if not all, of the accidents Craig cites could have been avoided with proper planning or decisionmaking. Outsiders ...

Kicking and screaming teachers are in the 21st century
Having been a counselor in a Texas community college for the past thirty one years I can readily state that I am thrilled to still be able to gather new ideas from colleagues who are decades my junior. Mr. Filine in his book assesses the current state of higher education for the masses without "dissing" those who labor in the profession and the same time slyly encourages us to reach out beyond ...

Learn to ski the bumps!
For most skiers, there is nothing more terrifying than accidentally emerging at the top of a field of steep and deep moguls. If you're like I used to be, you deal with the situation by first shedding some tears, then bucking yourself up for the task ahead. Resolute, you push off, then quickly panic as you watch the mogul and your skis drop away in front of you. Scared, you lean away from the ...

My daughter loves it
I was amazed to see the bad reviews. Is this workbook more fun than Nintendo? UMMM, no, it is a workbook. I use it to reinforce what we have been learning in other more visually stimulating books. Do look at the pages and notice that the student gets to cut out the letters of the word and paste them for one of the activities. She LOVES that and it gives her practice with her motor skills. ...

Good Study Book
This book is straight from ACE. It is complete with a section in the back that breaks down what the Ace test will cover. I have not taken the Ace test yet and so I cannot comment on whether or not this book alone will be sufficient enough as a study aid for the Ace Group Fitnsss Instructor exam. I found it extremely informative and very well organized.

Good for Evaluation Materials
This is a good resource guide if you need materials to test a student's knowledge of APA Style. I found it useful to evaluate students' knowledge of APA format before I had covered any material. Unfortunately, I was expecting more information on pedagogical methods for teaching APA Style, not just for testing students on it. The resource guide consists of multiple choices evaluations and answer ...

This is an incredible book which truly emphasizes the reality of the world we live in. The title of the book leaves so much out of the true content within it. David Werner has managed to share his experiences in a very effective manner by providing examples, quotations and anecdotes. I recommend this book for anyone, not just healthcare workers! The premise of the book is to show the value ...
