Very good reference
As with the FAA's "Instrument Procedures Handbook," this text is also freely available from the FAA as a full color PDF. You can download the entire book as one file or grab in it sections. http://www.faa.gov/library/manuals/aviation/instrument_flying_handbook/ This volume is the FAA "bible" on instrument flying, and as such forms the foundation for the instrument check ride standards. ...

A Wonderful Ending to an Amazing Series
"To love is to destroy." It seems to me that whenever a series comes to a close, the last book is always the darkest and most serious. At least, that's how it was with City of Glass. In the first two books, the plot revolved around smaller battles with Downworlders and demons in New York. In this one, the readers are finally exposed to what everyone's been waiting for; what all the battles, ...

Hesitated to read it but WOW! I'm glad I did!
I can't hold back, I've got to tell you my thoughts... Okay, Okay. Before you start with you pre-judgements about this book, stop. Don't just assume it's going to be weird and too fantasy-ish based on the back of the book summary, because that summary didn't really capture me either. It took several people telling me this story was good to actually read it. Even then, after I got it from the ...

Well Done
We bought this for our sons 12th birthday -- he is really into music. It is a great book for him with good visuals and variety to expand his perspective beyond modern day gear. Of course, it is not exhaustive, but we are very pleased considering the reason we purchased it. Informational but not overly academic, there is enjoyment in the learning with enough content to provide a good stepping ...

This book MUST become a part of your library if you are looking for a clear definition of how all Christians are called to help others deal with difficulties in life. Tripp has written a masterpiece in this work. Fun for all who love music
This book gives a lot of simply stated but very interesting information about mucsical instruments including how they came about and what makes them work. It tells what pitch range they are in and how they are arranged in the orchestra. Musicians and composers are highlighted with the instruments as well. The CDrom gives visual and audio examples of the instruments. I bought it to enhance ...

Beware of scams...
First off... this is an essential book. Do note that it can be downloaded for free from the FAA: [...] ...but many times it's better to have the print version. There are some vendors selling illegal CD versions of this on Amazon when you purchased that are not paperback as listed. Do NOT accept this if they send you a CD. Demand the print, book version if you purchase it - and do not ...

One of the most beautifully written books I have read.
I absolutely LOVED this book! Kent Nerburn's style is beautiful. He speaks from the depths of his soul. THe kindness and goodness that he possesses as a human being is obvious. The depth of his spirituality is rare and he makes you want to do all you can to follow in CHrist's footsteps. The imagery he uses is so awesome. He uses the language of words as it is meant to be used--descriptive and ...

Extremely useful and doable, even for a layperson
This book has very useful information on essentially all types of instruments, even keyboard-ish instruments. These instruments are definitely NOT little kiddy playthings - I wouldn't recommend getting it for your ten-year-old - but can be constructed even by those who don't have a plethora of equipment and supplies. Quite absorbing, especially for those who wish to make a wide variety of ...

best visual aid
I bought a few books that deal w/ this subject when I got a new job as an OR nurse. this book is the best at allowing a person to study instrument recognition without having to have the actual instrument to refer to. I was able to go to work, scrub in, and w/ very few exceptions, know exactly what I was looking at.

The Best of Breed
This is undoubtedly the best IFR instruction and reference book on the market. It is easy to read -- keeps the reader engaged through mild humor and relevancy. I used it in conjunction with Instrument Ground School and continue to go back to it for an easy to use reference. I've bought and read many books on instrument flying, and for a basic book, I found Rod Machado's book to be number one.

more instrument VARIETY, please!
These are well-made stickers that CAN be removed if an overzealous child adheres them to a newly painted wall. In fact, they can be removed in one piece, rather than disintegrate into several thin strips, as other cheap stickers will do. They are brightly colored and the booklet they come in keeps them all in one place. I would have liked to have seen a little more variety in the instrument ...

Fun Activities
This is a great little book with lots of fun and simple activities to do with really little ones. A lot of these activities are so simple that you will think "I could have come up with that" but now that I'm a new mom and back to work I'm happy I don't have to. I can just choose one or two of these to add to help make my lesson more fun.

This is another great book for the Pilots Library. Richard L. Taylor approaches the subject with a good understanding and ability to explain that knowledge. Your Pilots Library should include this book to help round out your information on the subject.
