A triumph for June B. Jones!
Thank you, Barbara Parks for letting America's favorite first grader learn a splendid Christmas lesson in Junie B., First Grader: Jingle Bells, Batman Smells! (p.s. so does May.)! Even at holiday time, Junie is up to her expected tricks, and there's an awful rivalry with Tattletale May. But, alls well that ends well, with tons of laughs on the way to a heartwarming ending. Brava, Barbara ...

The Green Collar Economy
The subtitle says it all for this highly-readable book. Van Jones' articulate prose and common-sense approach to turning our ecomonic challenges into an opportunity for a green growth boom is a must-read for anyone who wants to live and thrive prosperously on a clean planet. I hope every decision maker in Washington and our state capitals has a copy of it on their nightstand.

Daughter loves them...I'm still skeptical
My 8 year old daughter loves these books, but the incorrect grammar etc. still has me a little skeptical. Her school even uses them all the time, but I still haven't figured out the big plus of these books yet.

Great Books
I brought these for my 7 year old grandchild and she just loved them. She loves to read anything about Junie B. Jones. I am glad books like these are out there to get children started liking to read at an early age.

Everything you love about American popular culture is Quincy Jones. As an artist and impresario Quincy Jones has been the creative catalyst for over 50 years of American cultural phenomena orchestrating the sounds of Frank Sinatra, setting the ambiance for Steven Spielberg, cultivating the talent of Michael Jackson, and introducing the world Oprah Winfrey and Will Smith--to name a few. The Complete Quincy Jones examines the diverse virtuosity ...

Racist? C'mon....get real.
My 5 year old really enjoys this books with the silly rhymes and play on words. This story is about a child-cat and his imagination. The play on spanish words aren't meant to be racist, it shows how a young kitten (similar in his personality to a young child) may interpret how they hear things. It never shows the spanish chihuahuas as being any kind of bad stereotypes. Just as some Pups in need ...

Our household enjoys our time reading Junie B.
Reading these books has become a time to bond with my child. We enjoy reading together. I questioned the effects on my child's reading and writing abilities from reading books that would include poor grammar and at times poor behavior on Junie's behalf. However, I felt that this was a great opportunity to discuss the appropriate behavior and learn from the experience with my daughter, who is ...

Very Cute!
My six year old daughter totally gets these books. Yes, we have talked about what Junie B. is doing wrong, and how we should behave in "real" life. Definitely an opportunity to explain right from wrong. I'll use age-appropriate opportunities, real or fiction, to teach life skills. So far, it seems to be working. Enjoy!

Skippyjon Jones Has Mummy Trouble!
This is a cute story about a Siamese cat who has mummy trouble while thinking he is a chihuahua! It is very sweet and funny. I liked the mummy, Egyptian motif for my 6th graders. I teach ESOL so I get to use picture books for kids of all ages. I love it!

A teacher's perspective
I am a retired teacher with 32 years of experience. I began using Barbara Park books as read-aloud selections for first and second graders. The children and I laughed together at the silly antics of Junie B. Jones. The chapters were perfect for 10 minute read-alouds and the books lasted for about a week. The children began checking out copies of the books from the library and reading along ...

Granddaughter loves it!
I purchased this for my 4-year old granddaughter, who loves the Skippyjon Jones books. She was delighted to see that this little storybook had stickers. She loves putting stickers on pages. It was helpful that the stickers were grouped as to what pages they were relevant to in the story. She liked the story, too. She told her Mom all about Skippyjon making a pinata for his mother. It was a ...

Not up to Skippyjon Standards
My children (6, 4, 1) were disappointed with this game because they expected a book and more of the (usually great) Skippyjon dialog. This is still entertaining for the youngest kids to use in the car, but it really is not much fun to read or "play" and I expect it will hit the giveaway box before long. The kids do love that they can recognize aspects from various Skippyjon adventures, but in ...

A Must Read!!
I enjoyed this book better than 'Seductive Poison' by Blakey. Reiterman was not involved with Jones in an intimate way and so this book gives a more objective view. I'd done quite a bit of researching online about PT, Jones and Jonestown only to find that quite a bit of info. I gathered seems to have come straight out of this book almost word for word in some instances. Where do you begin when ...

Wonderful children's book and fun plush toy!
I purchased this book for my 2 1/2 year old daughter as well as a copy for my cousin's 2 1/2 year old son. Both of them love reading it and giggling at the silly kitten who thinks he's a chihuahua. They love the use of the Spanish words they also hear on Dora & Diego. The stuffed toy makes for great fun for them to act out some of Skippyjon Jones's adventures! The great thing about this ...

Skippyjon Jones!
Skippyjon Jones is a great doll to go with the books. I actually teach middle school but teach English to those who are learning so I use picture books all the time. The kids just love the books and the dolls or whatever else I can find to go along with them. They don't feel guilty about them at all but usually choose to keep them in the classroom. They'll love this doll too.

Great for Indy lovers!
I bought the guide as a gift for my nephew and his father, both HUGE Indy fans, and they love it! It is very comprehensive, especially the Indy time- line, which incorporates all Indy lore, even the Young Indy TV series. Neither my nephew nor my brother can put the book down.
