More Solar System Adventures from Ben Bova
Action and adventure are rampant in this "grand tour" novel of the largest planet in the solar system. The main character in the book is Grant Archer. Recently graduated from college with a degree in astrophysics, Grant longs for the opportunity to study black holes and other celestial matter. However, the powers-that-be have different ideas for him. Required to perform four years of "public ...

Book Review
This is an excellent read for anyone who enjoys riding motorcycles, and has had thoughts of riding one to other countries. Ted Simon has wonderful style of writing, and this book does a good job as a stand alone piece, even though it references his previous book of his around the world ride from 1973. He does well in creating images of the people he meets, and places he goes. My only criticism ...

Because real astronomy really is fun
An adventure story with engaging pictures and great asides of real science - a great book to share with girls and boys of a wide range of ages. The writers combine professionalism and passion for science with a sense of wonder and enjoyment. And happily, the adventures also represent the authors' vision of a world of diverse peoples working together and living in peace.

best adventure book ever
I ate this book up with rapt joy! And halfway through i realized i knew the author - from France in 1970! It is just the most poetic, honest, juicy, deep-swimming book - I recommend it to anyone who loves the call of the open road!

I nominate Munro for the Nobel Prize
I won't tell you what to look for or how to feel when you read Alice Munro. If you've never encountered her before, The Moons of Jupiter is the best place to start, early Munro at the height of her evocative powers. Don't turn to the Selected Stories first. Each of Munro's books is a suite of stories, interlocking in themes and often in characters, on the model of a sonata, a suite of musical ...

Yet another contemporary classic by Stephen Arroyo
This book is the very essence of Jupiter. From its apt title, to its generous use of many famous chart examples, to Arroyo's trademark insight and wisdom on every page, "Exploring Jupiter" is positively a winner! The presentation of the astrology is clear, practical and intelligent, making it a must for both newer students and more experienced practising astrologers. While outlining a ...

Better ^_^
Sailor Jupiter's scout guide is pretty good. It's detailed, the information is correct, and the pictures look fabulous! The guide also lists all of Sailor Jupiter's attacks, her fashion sense, and fifty secrets about Lita! (Sailor Jupiter) But there are some downsides to this book. T_T Pictures are all over the place, with words written on the sides of the pictures. So, you have to flip the book ...

It's ok to be human.
I read (and re-read) Jupiter's Travels pretty much when it came out in the 1970s. This is a very fine follow-up - and hard to put down - (good enough to loan to my literary friend), that just goes to show that it's ok to be human.

The Jupiter/Saturn Conference Lectures
This volume is one of a series of books compiled from the lectures and workshops of some of the most innovative and articulate contributors to modern astrology. Through this medium of edited transcripts, we hope that some of the most vital and incisive of today's astrological thought - which heretofore has been communicated only to small groups and then passes into oblivion - can be given a ...

A comprehensive resource on Jupiter
Oh, yes, there are several excellent books about Jupiter for the layman. But if you have a technical background and want to learn about Jupiter, why not get the real thing? And this book is indeed the one to get. It has an introduction, twenty-six excellent papers by noted experts in their fields, and a CD with some additional color images. It contains information discovered by the Voyager, ...

Beautiful book with a great ending !
This book is short and simple, with lovely pictures and a wonderful ending ! Great for kids who like space, sci-fi, and wondering about the universe. It is short and beautiful enough to hold the attention of a very young child but our 5-yo loves it too and asks to read it over and over.

I Love the Exclamation Point
I was expecting more from this book as it has been well reviewed. The book reminds me of the Seinfeld episode in which Elaine wants to use nothing but exclamation points for every sentence in a book she is editing. This author uses so many exclamation points that I wonder why he didn't write better sentences to emphasize a point. The history of various spots reads as a touch dull. Although this ...

The scope, the ideas...
Donald Moffitt just can't write about tiny things. His ideas become huge engineering projects, of such massive scope that it boggles the mind. Using a whole gas planet as as fuel, taking it along and protecting your ships from the radiation by putting them behind a moon is something that NOBODY would of thought of before. Yet by making it seem simple, if not also a tad ruthless, he makes the ...
