Great book for us non-astronomy experts
I bought this book expecting to read the usual stuff about why some people think that the moon landing was a hoax and how astrology doesnt really work (as explained on the cover). But i was suprised to learn about so many things that I actually thought really did exist in the world of astronomy. For the doom of job hunting
I have just graduated college. Like many of my class I was thrilled at the graduation ceremony and celebrated the end of 16 year confinement callled "education." This joy was quickly replaced by my daily exercise of hair pulling about 2 weeks into my job hunting. I thought with a diploma from one of the top 5% college in the nation and skills such as trilingual should have no problem getting a ...

An exceptionally good piece of creative/practical work about Online Testing
When I first saw that this book was coming to light I had mixed feelings. On one hand, I was hunger for more testing knowledge, both theoretical and practical. On the other hand, I am always apprehensive when books talk about tools. However, the book impressed me as a comprehensive guide to Online Testing. And when I read the following (p.18), I was sure the book is what the market needs: "The ...

Flawed Summary of Normandy
This book is a translation from the author's 2007 French original. The great majority of the books in English on Normandy are from a British, American or (more rarely) a German viewpoint and often have some bias, large or small, in favor of that viewpoint. Wieviorka's French view is unusual for English speaking readers and refreshing in some respects. Unfortunately, however, this book may not ...

Excellent book
I had no idea how to write a business proposal. I followed this book to the tee...I now write major proposals for my company and my proposal kicked the ass of a couple of MBA's. There were a lot of red faces when I showed up my with version of a proposal. I essentially went from having no idea how to write a proposal to setting the bar on how to write a proposal, thanks to this excellent book.

Great book
Great author, too. I had him as a Criminal Justice professor at Grand Valley State University. He was an adjunct professor there for a couple of years. Very nice, very knowledgeable. This book is a good reference and starting point. Sure, most of the information is available on the Internet, but why go through all the trouble of finding it when it can all be at your fingertips?

Hang on for a rough and tumble ride!
The fundamental story of commercial aviation in the United States, as Eddie Rickenacker, aptly if not crassly said, is of "putting bums in seats."(175) At first there were no airline companies with aircraft or routes to transport those seats in which to place the bums. The public's early perception of flight as reckless and dangerous was not unwarranted. It took time for people to become ...
